2.  Queer Theory is field of critical theory that
emerged in the early 1990s.
 Feminist challenges to the idea that gender is
part of the essential self and upon gay/lesbian
studies close examination of the society
constructed nature of sexual acts and
identities.
 Feminism was the contrast between sex and
gender -Queer theory offers the view that all
identities are social constructions

3.  An approach to literary and cultural study that
rejects traditional categories of gender and
sexuality critical theory emerged in 1990s.
 It is not only sexual desire but it's also
emotional desire.
 Queer theory does not concern itself exclusively with
homosexuality - it is about all forms of identity.
 Italian feminist and film theorist Teresa de Lauretis
coined the term.

patriarchy which feminism contests is actually
‘heteropatriarchy’.

 Butler suggesting that even feminism theory cannot assume
that being ‘female’ or ‘male’ creates certain kinds of
identity.

has openly proclaimed to

 He runs a charity works with
the LGBT community.

 Kantaben would shiver whenever
her Rohit baba would hint her of
being gay makes us ROFL till date.
 It didn't only give the hint that
homosexuality exists to Kanta
Ben's character but to the audience
as well and it was just the
beginning.

mainstream commercial movie
that showed homosexuality as
the theme of the story.
 It was the stereotyped and
everything was given a comic
angle
 Kirron kher accepting her son
dating another man was a step
forward towards acceptance.

10.  Student of the year was
another movie that had a
typical rom-com plot.
 Rishi kapoor and Ronit
Roy was presented as gay
in the movie.
 Homosexuality is natural
and has been there for a
very long time now

11.  The film about an
openly gay guy, who
found out that his boss'
husband is gay but is in
the closet.
 The film shows how
social pressure forces
you to became someone
else.
