1. A REPORT FROM THE SECRETARY
IAAPC Delhi Chapter greets its members and extends best wishes to CPCB on its
foundation day on 23rd
September. In memory of its First Chairman Prof. Nilay
Chaudhuri, A lecture on “Pollutter Pays Principle – Issues & Options” is being
delivered by Dr. K.R. Ranganathan, Member Secretary, Loss of Ecology Authority,
Govt. of India and former Member Secretary CPCB. This, annual event of the
Association is now being considered as an important event in Delhi.
Association has drawn up an ambitious calendar during Oct. 2005 – March 2006
period. Work Shop on monitoring and management of HAP, AAQS and Evaluation of
Indian Experiences in Air Quality monitoring and data interpretation are being
organised in November, January, and March 2006. Association is also preparing a
data base of Indian Air Quality experts and hope to release it soon.
Though the regular publication of journal and active participation of members in
executive committee meetings is a matter of satisfaction yet the growth in
membership is still not as expected. Membership is the back bone of any association. I
call upon you to inform about the activities of the association to Air Quality
Professionals and invite them to join the IAAPC.
