1. Profile of CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal
CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal son of Shri. Jagdish Prasad Agarwal ji, was born on 04th
July 1963 in
Pali District of Rajasthan, completed his graduation from Abu Road, Rajasthan University.
He is a monarch of Finance Industry, name which needs no introduction. Through his sheer
perseverance and fortitude, he has endeavored to outshine in one of the most regal
professions in the globe called Chartered Accountancy and achieve an apex position. CA. Uttam
Prakash Agarwal’s hardwork paid off when he was elected as the “Honorable President of The
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in the year (2009-2010), by the 20th Council
on February 5, 2009. Though born and bought up in Rajasthan, his vision and zeal to outgrow
him brought him to Mumbai in 1984, wherein he completed his Chartered Accountancy in
1987. A Fellow Member of ICAI, with more than two decades of standing, CA. Uttam Prakash
Agarwal was elected to the Central Council of ICAI for the first time in 2004 and thereafter in
2007. He holds the honorary membership of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Australia and CPA Australia. His never – ending toil to reach towards professional excellence
has been recognized nation-wide by the Honorable “President of India, Her Excellency Smt.
Pratibha Devisngh Patil” with “Recognition of Excellence Award”.
He was also awarded with “UDAN 2011” by the Times of India Group Newspaper Navbharta
Times in the hands of Shri Uddhav Thackeray, Executive President, Shiv Sena, for being one of
the youngest President of ICAI & taking Chartered Accountancy profession worldwide. As a
mascot for the youth he has been awarded with the totemic youth icon of the year. During his
tenure as the President CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal played a key-role in resolving & bringing
the culprits to task namely the Auditors who were involved in the India’s Biggest Corporate
Scandal” The Satyam Scam”. As a Director at Reliance Capital Trustee Company Limited, CA.
Uttam Prakash Agarwal’s never-say-die spirit has enabled him to achieve his long-nurtured
dream of repaying back to the CA Fraternity by introducing a unique concept called UPACA
Academy. UPACA Academy is his effort to provide a comprehensive solution for all the
problems faced by CA students. The philosophy that makes it a unique concept is that it
provides CA classroom training, hostel facilities, articleship, finishing school and regular
graduation (affiliated from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University) all under one roof. It incorporates
various programs of soft skills and vocational courses which is essential in shaping the overall
growth of students with the best surroundings and state-of-the-art facilities. All his efforts over
a period of time has given him the much deserving recognition by NBC News Makers of being
the “Best Chartered Accountant”. Uttam Prakash Agarwal was facilitated Excellent Chartered
Accountant of the year by R.K HIV Aids Research & Care Centre.

Organized an International Conference on “Winds of Challenges-Global Strategies for
Accounting Profession” at Agra, from July 03-05, 2009. The Conference was inaugurated by Sir
David Tweedie.

Chairman, IAASB were also present. The International Conference was attended by over 2100
delegates and about 150 delegates from over 20 countries.
Instrumental in organizing The International Conference on "Accounting Profession- Shining
bridge between Global Economies” from Nov 20-22nd at Jaipur which was inaugurated by
Hon’ble Union Minister of Corporate Affairs, Shri Prem Chand Gupta.
Organized a 4 days Corporate Event Forum, during the 17th to 20th of January 2008 at Grand
Hyatt, Mumbai, comprising of four Concurrent events viz. Career Ascent, Capital Advantage,
Fin Summit and the CA.Corporate Leader- Exact Awards. The forum generated an income of
Rs. 1.35 Crores. CNBC Awaaz was the media partner to the event.
