1. VRANJE ''Врање''VRANJE ''Врање''
Vranje, is a city and the
administrative center of the
Pčinja District in southern
Serbia. The city has a
population of 83,524
inhabitants, while the urban
area of the city has 60,485
inhabitants.Vranje is the
economical, political, and
cultural centre of the Pčinja
District in South Serbia. It is on
located on the Pan-European
Corridor X, close to the borders
with Macedonia and Bulgaria.
2. CULTURE ISTITUTIONS
National Museum Pasha's dormitory building was built by the mighty
Rauf Beg Dzinic in 1765. It consists of two-storey buildings that were
once connected by a suspension bridge. The buildings are typical
rapresentatives of the Balkan-oriental architecture.
Republic Square In front of
the Administration building in
Republic Square is a
monument to the 1878
liberators of Vranje, known as
''Uncle Mita''. On the left side
of the monument is the old
hotel building, nearby the
hotel is a theater ''Bora
Stankovic'' whitch was
founded in 1895. at the
center of the square is a
mosaic that represents the
plan of the city in 1975.
3. Hamam The old Turkish bath, buit at the end of the 17th
century in
the Balkan-oriental architectural style of that period. A
significant description of Hamam and its costums was left to us
by Bora Stankovic in his book ''impure body''
National Museum-house of Bora
Stankovic built around 1850 and it
wasturned into a museum in 1967. it is
open to the public as a memorial house of
the great serbian writer Bora Stankovic
(author of the famous book ''kostana''). It is
located in the Baba zlatina street.
4. BELI MOSTBELI MOST
Vranje was an important Ottoman trading site. The White
Bridge is a symbol of the city and is called "most ljubavi" (lovers'
bridge) after the tale of the forbidden love between the Muslim
girl Ajša and Christian Stojan that resulted in the father killing
the couple. After that, he built the bridge where he had killed
her and had the story inscribed in Ottoman Arabic. The city has
traditional Balkan and Ottoman architecture.

Mark's fortress is the oldest monument of history and culture in this
region. It represents the remains of a medieval fortress built on
Roman foundations.
City Park in it there is a central part
dedicated to the busts of famous
people who lived in or gaved their
contribution to Vranje -Justin Popovic,
Djordje Tasic, Dr. Franjo Kopsa, and at
the central place there is a monument
of Borislav Bora Stankovic. Near the
park there is the monumental bulding of
the High School (better known as
Gimnazija) built in 1933. In front of the
High School building there is the
Faculty of Pedagogy, a monument to
the revolution. Nearby is the Home of
the Serbian Army.
6. Churches
Church of the Venerable martyr Paraskeva is located near
White Bridge. The church dates back to the 13th
century as the
medieval Serbian church, built on the site where there relics of
an unknown saint which, even today, spread the fragrance of
grace.
The Holy Trinity Church church in
the city center, was built from 1838
until 1858 in the form of a three-nave
basilica surronded by porches in
west, south and north.
7. Vranjska Banja
The City municipality of Vranjska Banja (Serbian Cyrillic:
Градска општина Врањска Бања / Gradska opština Vranjska
Banja) is a town and one of two city municipalities which
constitute the City of Vranje. It is also one of the spa resorts in
Serbia. Located 12 km (7 mi) northeast from the city of Vranje,
it is surrounded by forests and rolling hills which offer nice
scenery, and a good restaurant by the old clinic is situated at
the end of the town.
