Douglas K. Axelson managed the procurement of $60 million in capital equipment for a major renovation and expansion project at Albany Medical Center Hospital. This included coordinating the procurement of over 950 pieces of equipment for 12 departments across a new 5 floor building. He developed processes and procedures to integrate equipment procurement with facilities, construction engineering, clinical engineering, and various departments. Through his project management, Axelson helped achieve on-time and on-budget delivery of equipment and realized $3 million in savings for the $52 million equipment procurements.
