Main image
The main image’s in this particular
section are both mid shots this is so
there is more room for text and yet
still have a reasonably large
picture, as oppose to a close up that
would not allow much room for text
Introduction
Logo
The NME logo is still clear
on the contents page and
retains the same colour as
the one on the front so
that customers recognise
the magazine they enjoy
The text in this list is
securely written in red font
so to continue with the
house style in this case the
reoccurring red text .
The Sub headings in this
section of the article are in the
same font and colour scheme
as the mast head.
The article has 3
columns
The image is located in the
centre of the contents page
in order to draw attention
In order to sell the magazine the
writer uses red which is an
attractive colour and it uses
puffs and plugs to advertise the
magazine subscriptions and the
advertisement to the rest of the
articles.
The colour is used to separate
different parts of the article so
readers who want to just look
at a specific sections can do so
The Introduction gives the
reader a small taster of
what is included in the
article, It also has certain
important words and names
highlighted in orange which
links to the house style.
3. Magazine Cover
Logo
The MOJO magazine logo is positioned
behind the main picture this is because
the logo is something that is very
recognisable so they can put it there
without the reader not knowing which
magazine it is.
Plug
The plug is used to advertise the lesser
contents of the magazine that are not the
main article but are still substantial
stories, they are also incredibly vague so the
reader wishes to read on to see the full story.
The way this magazine has written these
plugs it is almost saying that if you don’t like
the Beatles we also have these bands you
may be interested in.
House style
The house style for this particular
magazine includes the use of black, white
and grey this colour scheme also links to
the main image and subject of the
magazine as it is classical and the Beatles is
considered a Classic band.
Puff
This is similar to a plug in that it
advertises the magazine but only with
extra add-ons as oppose to the actual
contents of the magazine in this case
the magazine is offering a free poster
with the purchase of the magazine.
Strapline
The strapline works in a similar way
to the Plug and in this case runs
across the top of the magazine
above the logo it also links into the
house style as the text is written in
white and grey.
