• Sound Effects: Sound effects are used in the intro to drop people into the action and give the podcast some
life. This is the only time they are used as the podcast is based off of the gossip and stories rather than
entertainment created from sounds.
• Music: Music is only used in the podcast when it is ending as a way to fade out the whole thing. The hosts can
finish what they want to say and the have the music take over and gradually fade out.
• Voice Over: Occasionally, Joe Rogan has a voiceover in his podcasts in the beginning just after the sound
effects in the beginning to introduce the guests or what kind of things they will all be talking about to begin
with.
• In this podcast, Joe and his guests talk about all of the most interesting and freshest stories and rumours
available and give their own opinion on them. The stories are never themed and they very often go off on
tangents however the guests brought in are usually the trigger for specific stories as they might relate to them
(UFC fighters talking about mma, etc).
• The language used in said show is extremely informal and some of their language can sometimes be rather
crude – especially when discussions get heated between the guest and Joe. Slang can be heard in the podcast
often depending on the guest but the host, Joe, usually stays more towards the formal side.
• Joe Rogan makes people want to listen to his podcast by doing plenty of other things in the limelight instead of
just podcasting. For example, he is a commentator for the UFC, he used to host a tv show called Fear Factor
and he is also a comedian. Due to all of these extremely ‘out there’ jobs, Joe had already gathered quite a
following and plenty of fans. To help boost his popularity further, the jobs he has had will have opened him up
to other popular icons related to the same field of work. Well known people such as Ari Shaffir who is another
famous comedian and Brendan Shaub, an experienced ex mma fighter. All of this, along with the fact that he is
considered ‘outrageous’ and ‘controversial’ means that he can draw more people in than regular podcast
hosts.

• Sound Effects: Sound effects are used all the
way through the audio documentary,
especially when the narrator is trying to get an
image across. The sounds used then gives the
listener an image and brings the described
things to life. This helps take the listener on a
journey. When time is referenced by the
narrator, ticking can often be heard to show
the passing of it.

• In this product, there are very little sound
effects added in except for the ones already
added into the game being commentated
over. Music is occasionally played at the
beginning of a video to give the intro more
depth and is always played at the end of his
to finish the whole thing off after he has
finished talking.

a marker for the end coming up.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
I will include the factual nature of Apolo's videos in my product. I will also add sound
