The students at MN Model School in Delhi wanted to improve cleanliness at their school. They implemented a program where each student would be responsible for one dustbin to use in their classroom and home. They made low-cost dustbins from cardboard and other recycled materials. Over 320 students out of 600 total made dustbins that helped keep their classrooms, school, and homes cleaner and reduce waste in the environment.

2. FEEL
 The dirty sight of our school
and community has always
moved us a lot. Our school
had no dustbins, so we felt
that something has to be
done to start a change and to
motivate others.
 “Cleanliness is next to
godliness”, we wanted to
make our surroundings
clean.

3. IMAGINE
 We thought to start with our class.
We wanted to follow the concept of
one dustbin per child because it will
also help in personal cleanliness and
also motivate our family members.

4. DO
 We didn’t want to involve any
expenses and like our classroom we
wanted to keep it low cost design.
 We used old cardboards and waste
things to make our dustbins.
 Everyone got old cardboards, glue and
a covering paper.
 Our dustbins were ready!

5. SHARE,SHARE,SHARE
 Our clean classrooms motivated everyone
to make dustbins.
 Our family members have also started
using dustbins at home.
 320 out of total 600 students in our school
have made a dustbin for school and their
houses. Now our waste goes into the
dustbin and not in the environment.
 We shared the idea of making dustbin with
everyone. Our classroom, school and houses
are very clean now.
 Very soon our community will be very
clean!
