Through meetings, rallies, role plays, posters, banners and slogans, students aimed to raise awareness among rural parents about the harms of child labor and promote sending children to school instead. The students saw that poverty led parents to believe children working could earn more money than being educated. Villagers participated in the awareness activities, and some parents promised to stop employing their children and send them to school. A committee was formed for ongoing community engagement on the issue.

1. We selected the idea to make parents aware about the household child labor in rural areas and to promote them to send them school.

3. We went in village to search out the causes behind it. We saw that due to poverty parents thought that if their children will work with them they can earn more and by doing so they can also save the money which may spent on their education. Therefore we decided to make aware people through meetings, rallies, role plays by using hand made posters, hand bills, banners and self prepared slogans.

4. Rallies with burning slogans “Bade jaye kaam par, bacche jayen school”, “Papa na lo hamse kamai, Karne do ab hume padhai”, “Papa na lo humse kaam, kar denge hum roshan naam” etc had cast much effect on the villagers. The funny but educative role plays were also gave a solid massage to the community. Villagers also participated in our activities .

5. Through the rallies and other activities some parents came to us and promised not to take work from their children and also assured that soon they will sent them in schools too. For the continuous mongering a committee will work among them.
