4. Democracy without education is
meaningless. It is education &
enlightenment that lifts a
nation to the heights of
progress & greatness.
With our institution already in
field of free school education,
we opted Adult Education as
project. No Program of
compulsory universal education
can bear fruit without the active
support & co-operation of
adults. It is therefore,
imperative that educational
facilities should be provided to
adults.
5. The first step towards
the commencement of
the change was
identification of 8-10
old ladies from village.
One of them gave
space in her house for
conducting classes and
5-6 students were
identified who were to
carry out the project
under the guidance of
mentor teacher.
6. Students took with
themselves slates and
chalk from the school to
be used by the old
ladies.
As they were all Punjab
residents, we taught
them Punjabi so that
they can read anything
in Punjabi whether its
news paper or
books/notebooks of
their grand children etc.

10. As all were first
generation learner the
pace was bit slow but on
Bapu’s birthday they
were all capable of
writing 35 alphabets of
Punjabi language.
The last picture was
taken today, i.e. on 2nd
October, but the project
is still marching ahead
with great vigor and
passion.
