My name is Craig Ediger and my title is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Roadrunners Logistics. I have
served in that position for almost two years. Cyndi started with the company at the same time I did.
While Cyndi did not report to me directly, I was the most senior manager in the office other than our
company founder, Sal Giovingo. Therefore Cyndi and I had a great deal of interaction on a daily basis.
Cyndi’s primary role was to be Personal Assistant (PA) to our CEO/President, Sal Giovingo. In addition to
that, she supported me and my Leadership Team with many tasks. She also played a key role in the
entire organization in the managing and organizing of events and meetings. In this latter role, she often
served as a key component in the establishment and maintenance of the culture of the organization.
She served me as COO by listening to people in the organization and communicating with me about
concerns and needs of the organization. This helped me understand the temperature of the
organization, areas that might need more attention or communication and how the things we were
doing were being understood and accepted by others in the company.
Cyndi is quite organized and able to keep track of multiple priorities, the needs of multiple people and a
complex corporate calendar. She uses tools such as computers and smart phones to her ultimate
advantage in tracking what needs to be done and when. I often depended on her to keep me on track
with what was coming up and to be able to be ready for it.
Cyndi is also quite adept at putting together a complex event and using others to get all that needs to be
done completed on time and within the parameters she has established. For example, she organized a
wonderful Holiday Party at the beginning of 2016 that was a success by all measurements. She
established a team of volunteers from the company, gave each person a set of tasks, matching tasks to
the talents and abilities of the employee and the needs she had. She planned games, presentations,
prizes, and the venue, culminating in a wonderful evening of celebration that everyone enjoyed. She
was given an timeline, a budget and some additional parameters, all of which she met and in some cases
exceeded.
One of the most effective traits that Cyndi has is the ability to anticipate needs of the people she
supports before they become critical. She plans ahead, puts herself in the shoes of the person she is
supporting and tries to foresee and forestall problems. In some cases she is able to plan redundancies
so that if something falls through, there are other options already in place.
2. In her role as PA to our owner, she managed a very complicated travel schedule that was extremely
volatile. She managed his mail and email, both his personal and professional calendar and many aspects
of both his personal and professional life. She was able to do all this with minimal input and interaction
with the owner, requiring her to be very efficient with the time they had together. This required her to
choose and prioritize what he needed to see, balancing keeping him out of trouble with not giving him
more information than he needed.
Cyndi has a very pleasant demeanor around the office. She played a positive role in our corporate
culture, getting people excited about things that were happening and generating enthusiasm for our
work and the social aspects of our job as well.
I would be glad to have Cyndi in any organization of which I am a part. She brings cheerfulness,
efficiency and effectiveness to that which she is assigned. She has key skills that serve her very well as
both a project/event manager and as a PA for a busy executive. It is my pleasure to recommend Cyndi
