To whom it may concern:
I am writing this letter is to provide a recommendation for Linda Prien. I have had the pleasure of
overseeing Linda’s work as a case manager/social worker for the last year. Our programs at the Center for
Workforce Development strive to provide an environment where our clients thrive and achieve the self-
sufficiency goals they develop with their case manager.
The populations that Linda is currently working with have a variety of challenges, barriers and some
difficult family situations. Two of Linda’s strengths are her ability to assess in an objective, non-
judgmental fashion while building the trust necessary for clients to develop plans and take action toward
achieving their goals. Linda has shown a high level of engagement with her clients going above and
beyond to help them meet their needs and achieve success. She has a great degree of empathy and treats
our very diverse population with dignity and respect. When Linda’s clients find themselves in difficult or
threatening situations, Linda is able to help them in her calming style to evaluate the options, make plans,
take necessary action and solve problems.
Linda has proven that she is a great team player who understands the true mission of our work and goals
of the organization. The team of case managers that Linda currently works with shares a number of duties
that Linda takes on with pleasure. She has been involved in planning a new series of Life Skills classes
and has built many relationships with other community providers.
During our recent strategic planning, I had planned to move Linda into a social work position where her
social work skills would have been more thoroughly utilized. Unfortunately for us, we have funding cuts
that are causing me to lay off our whole team. I know that Linda will be a valued employee wherever she
ends up based on the level of compassion and competence she has shown during the last year.
