Dear Sir or Madam,
As the charitable arm of the YMCA of Brisbane, Y-Care has benefited
considerably from the innovation, creativity and commitment demonstrated
by Na Zhang during her internship between April and June 2015. Working
in a multidisciplinary team, Na’s primary task was to provide consultancy
about the design and implementation of a database capable of storing data
for the organisation’s nine charitable programs. It is with great pleasure that
I am able to inform you that Na and her team excelled in this task and in
doing so, the group has saved the organisation a significant amount of
money on consultancy fees. As such, I wish to reflect on Na’s character
strengths which I believe assisted her to complete this task.
As an outsider to the YMCA, Na went to great lengths to ensure she had a
comprehensive understanding about how the organisation operated. During
initial planning stages of the project she meticulously reviewed current IT
processes and then critically evaluated these by drawing upon theory. Her
commitment and efforts to be thorough are commendable.
Na’s communication and interpersonal skills are also noteworthy. During
meetings and presentations she conscientiously listened to the ideas of
others and shared her own views with the team when appropriate. Her
humility was genuine and she ensured that the efforts of each member of
the team were acknowledged. On numerous occasions others informed me
that Na was approachable, respectful and enjoyable to work with.
Na also demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in all avenues of
her work. Her organisation and punctuality at meetings and responding to
requests was exceptional. She went to great lengths to ensure work was
completed thoroughly but also efficiently. Her reporting and presentation
skills were first-rate even surpassing the expectations of many senior
managers within the organisation.
Na has made an invaluable contribution to the IT strategies used by Y-
Care. Her invaluable efforts have and will continue to assist the
organisation to transition to a more sustainable future. I strongly
recommend that she be appointed to the current position as I have no
doubt that her intellect and skill will be of great benefit to your organisation.
