Anxiety Definition
ANXIETY
DESCRIPTION
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil. It is a feeling of fear, uneasiness, and worry, usually generalized and
unfocused as an overreaction to a situation that is only subjectively seen as menacing. It is one of the common psychiatric disorder in general clinical
practices, more common in women than in men.
Generalised anxiety disorder: It is characterised by symptoms of sympathetic over–activity or vague aches or pains, sleep disturbance, forgetfulness or
worrying too much. It is often accompanied by nervous behavior, such as pacing back and forth, somatic complaints and rumination.
Mixed anxiety disorder: It is characterised by presence of both anxiety and depression symptoms....show more content...
Pathological tests like CBC, thyroid function test, and screening for alcohol and drugs to determine if there are other causes for symptoms.
Psychological evaluation to study and explore thoughts, feelings, relationships, behavior patterns, suicidal thoughts, injury to self or others and family
history. Treatment
The best treatment or combination of treatments depends on each person's particular situation and severity of symptoms. Antisocial personality
disorder is very difficult to treat. People with this disorder may not even want treatment or think they need it. People with antisocial personality
disorder may also need treatment for other conditions, such as depression, anxiety or substance use disorders. Medical and mental health providers with
experience treating antisocial personality disorder and commonly associated conditions are most likely to be helpful.

What is Beauty? Essay
What is beauty? How do we decide who is attractive and who is not? Society is full of information telling us what is beautiful, but what fact is that
information based on? The topic of beauty has been studied, analyzed and controversial for centuries. We all know the feeling you can have when you
hear a beautiful song that brings joy to your heart, stand in a field of flowers that excites your eyes, or admire a face that is visually pleasing. As
human beings, we are all drawn to beauty, but what is it that makes something beautiful? The controversial issue that surrounds beauty is that some
believe that true beauty is defined by someone's outer appearance, while others believe it is something that is experienced through a person's...show

In men the most desirable features are a big jaw and broad chin. Smooth skin, shiny hair, lean body and facial symmetry are also important qualities of
beauty. Dateline conducted experiments to see if beautiful people were treated better than unattractive people. The results were an overwhelming, yes.
Men would stop and help pretty women in distress every time, while they would walk right by a less attractive woman that needed help. Studies have
consistently shown that attractive people get favorable treatment in many situations. They are more accepted in their peer groups, they receive better
treatment in stores and restaurants, and they are hired more often with higher pay. Are these things that make up outer beauty more important than
inner beauty? There are a large group of individuals who believe that outer beauty is temporary while inner beauty is untouchable and ever lasting, and
that is what makes someone truly beautiful. Even photographers that photograph beautiful models say that they look for girls that portray a beautiful
soul behind the face or a feeling of kindness that shows through. It is amazing how inner beauty can make an average looking person light up a room
with there heart–stopping presence. It is a permanent quality which makes an individual interesting, reachable, and trustworthy. If you feel beautiful,
your own confidence and self–worth brings out a glow of beauty that no outer beauty can compete with. If inner beauty is the genuine

What is Home? Essay
What is home? If one looks in a dictionary the answer would come out to be, "The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a
family or household." However, for anyone who has had an actual home, they would know that such a term goes much beyond its concrete
description. It is an impassioned aspect filled with values and foundation of nurturing. A home is not just an abode built to live in; in fact, that is
just a definition of a house. Home is a place where one not only feels comfortable, but a place they look forward to opportunely live in every day. A
home is built not by bricks or wood, but with the bond of family. A home is a place that reminds aperson of countless memories and values when he

Family is what makes a house a home; this statement is undeniably precise. A person could have every material entity in the entire world, but it
would mean nothing if he does not have someone to share it with. In other words, home is also semantically related to sharing the happiness, grief,
and material things with one's family. A home gives people a place to care about the people that mean the most to them. It is a place to tell
amusing tales, a good story, or make memorable memories with one another. Furthermore, home is more than a place; it is a feeling. It is a feeling
of contentment and happiness that they share with the ones they love. Moreover, home is when one knows they are with people that can drive them
insane in a second, and the same people can make them happy in a second as well. Home means that no matter what one is going through, no matter
how challenging life gets, there will be someone looking out for them. One knows that a place is their home when they are comfortable enough to
present a true description of themselves, because they know that they will receive definitive acceptance. It is a sanctuary for them where they can do
anything they please and not be judged afterwards. It is where one can share the absurdity of their day without any remorse or repercussions. The
reason why people say that a person only has one true home is because one will

Essay on Definitions of Health
Definitions of health
It is fairly difficult to define health as there are no agreements between scholars. This is why many sociologists focus their research on the different
issues and problems of ill health.
Positive definition of health: positive health looks at the physical, emotional, intellectual aspects of a person's wellbeing. This is in the way that they do
not have any diseases or ailments.
An example of the positive definition of health in a health and social care is a nurse in who is working in a hospital can say to one of their patients that
have recently started exercising to become more 'healthier' 'you look very healthy'.
Positive health looks at what aspects of health are there and which ones make us healthy....show more content...
An example of holistic health could be that a psychologist's client may have bipolar disorder and the psychologist would still focus on all of the other
aspects of their client's life and not just on the symptoms the client is experiencing of bipolar disorder.
Holistic health looks as everything as a whole and never different aspects of health individually.
World Health Organisation definition of health: the World Health Organisation defines health as "not merely an absence of disease, but a state of
complete physical, mental, spiritual and social well–being." (2013 K Pritchett Class Notes)
An example of health defined by the World Health Organisation in a health and social care setting could be that in order for a patient of a doctors
surgery to be healthy they would have to have a complete state of physical, mental, spiritual and social well–being. This means that if a patient was in a
wheel chair they could never be seen as healthy as they do not have a complete state of physical well–being.
The World Health Organisation thinks that people must have all complete aspects to be completely healthy.
The Clinical Iceberg
'The Clinical Iceberg' is a term used to call the levels of illnesses that are found from official statistics. This is because some people do not always
seek medical attention when they become ill therefore these official statistics may not be correct and showing the 'true' levels of

Dreams Definition Essay
Dreams. We all have them. But why? What causes us to dream about the seemingly most random things? A dream, by definition, is a series of
thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. Therefore, the quality of a person's sleep must somehow affect their
dreaming patterns. There are 5 stages of sleep that a person passes through each night, supposing that the person actually goes to sleep. Stage 1 of
sleep is very light and lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes. Brain activity lowers to around 50% or more. This slowly leads us into a deeper sleep and it
is not uncommon to experience myoclonic jerks and hypnagogic imagery while thus stage progresses. During stage 2 of sleep our brain activity lowers

Definition Essay: Racism
Definition: Racism
Racism is the unequal treatment of the human beings on the basis of their skin color. Racism is believed to have existed as long as human beings
have been in the world. It is usually associated with the skin color of a person, which makes one be distinguished from a certain race or community. The
word racism happened to be common in 1600s due to the enslavement of the Africans by the Americans and Europeans. One of the common examples
of racism was Americans' discrimination against the Africans during the early 1600s. Though it is believed that slavery has existed since ancient times,
the most outstanding one was the one practiced by the Americans. The dark–skinned people were enslaved on the whites' farms under...show more

In our daily lives, one may note that some activities tend to favor some people or a group that is dominant in a certain area. This can be considered
institutional racism. According to Memmi (2000), institutional racism usually aims at barring anyone from interfering with the advantages of the
dominant group in a given geographical location. The best example of this kind of racism was the Apartheid in South Africa. The British tried to
protect their lavish lifestyles by preventing the Africans from attending the same schools with them. In addition, the Africans were not allowed to use
the same roads or eat in the same cafes with the whites. Lastly, there is also new racism. Fredrickson (2003) considers new racism as covering the
cultural matters. The belief that a certain race has a culture which is superior to that of another race is termed as new racism. Some communities may
view the cultural practices of a certain community as inferior to theirs. Concerning this, they try to colonize the others through assimilating them into
their culture. Culture is also concerned with the way people dress. In conclusion, there is an opinion that racism has existed since the BC era. Despite
this, it is believed it actually commenced in 1619 when slavery arose in the US. During this period, people were enslaved and discriminated on the
basis of their color type. However, there are different types of racism, and they include new racism, historical

Truth Essay
Truth
The question of right and wrong has been battled over for centuries. Many conservatives still believe that truth is absolute, while others disagree, saying
that truth is relative. I believe that truth is an individual's perception of beliefs and decisions.
For that reason, truth differentiates among individuals thorough their contrasting opinions. But, truth is something that everyone believes to be correct.
Thus, it greatly depends on what's true in the minds of the people. On the contrary, truth that's spoken with bad intent is considered to be worse than a
lie. Hence, truth is an expression, symbol or statement that corresponds to reality and happiness.
Truth is dominated by one's subjective thoughts and beliefs. It is a...show more content...
Nevertheless, I also consider truth to be absolute, and therefore, it is never right to do wrong. Truth is the purity that differentiates between right and
wrong. "Absolute Truth" is true regardless of what we believe and think. Absolute truth stands on its own. In the sense, absolute truth is absolutely true
no matter what evidence there is for it. Truth is what corresponds to the facts. Truth does not change just because we learn something about it.
Also, truth is not always good to say. If the objective of telling the truth is to hurt someone, then it is considered to be inferior to a most terrible lie. For
that reason, while speaking the truth we should keep in mind that it doesn't hurt someone else's feelings or relations. The problem we face is that, we
feel the urge to tell the truth when we see it. But, we should try to accomplish this without disapproving condemnations that hurt others. So when we
freely express harsh judgment of another, we are in fact talking about those negative qualities of ourselves that trouble us the most.
Likewise, care should be taken that truth that's spoken for self–satisfaction does not impair someone else's life. Similarly, we should always bear in
mind that at times lie can also be beneficial to say if, it brings happiness to others. Hence, if the truth is spoken with the purpose of destruction of
something or someone then

Racism Definition Essay
When you hear the word racist, what comes to mind? Philando Castile? The I–94 highway protest? Martin Luther King Jr.? Feminists? Christians?
Islamics? Men and woman being shot by police because of the color of their skin or what they believe in? Throughout society, the definition of racism
varies drastically. Some people would define it as its definition, one race against another, then there are the other uninformed members of society who
would define it as blacks against whites, but in all reality it's any race against another. Though racism is usually defined as antagonism directed against
someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior, this definition would mean one race hating...show more content...
A correct example of racism is the Holocaust because Hitler hated the jews. It would affect daily life because it would be used in a correct way,
rather than a derogatory way. Society defines racism as whites against blacks, or men against women or maybe cops against African Americans. We
often classify the word discrimination. The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of
race, age, or sex. If a person is shopping while wearing old clothes they may not be helped because they seem like they couldn't afford anything. If a
man is married, people assume that he is more trustworthy. It's not necessarily true, but that's discrimination. The word racism is often used in place of
the word discrimination. When a woman is denied a job because she is a woman, many women would say that that act one one of racism, yet a more
acute word would be discrimination, because discrimination is negative judgment based on sex.
Prejudice is defined as preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. An Incorrect example of prejudice would be people
hating gay men because the Bible says " You shall not lie with a man as a woman that is an abomination. Leviticus 18:22." A correct use of the word

Definition Essay On Greed
What is greed? I think of the word greed and a sense of instability comes to my mind. Instability reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of
maturity around the world. I do not hear the word greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. It has a strong,
disgusting, passive meaning to it. Greed represents a tacky, ignoble person who expects to receive everything that has great value. Greed is known as
the desire for money, popularity or fame or even a higher authority of something. Being greedy is trying to succeed happiness and satisfaction for your
own doing. In one word, they become selfish. Many people who are greedy experience transformation to becoming conceited, impatient and selfish, but

Coaches are meant to lift your spirits, motivate you, influence you to be the best and encourage a comeback after a mistake. My coach has not
expressed a nice side and lately I have noticed a heightened greediness in him. If you are a part of his life it is about his life, his ego and what he
wants. His ego caught up with him and he is self centered towards everyone around him. I am coming back from an injury and my self esteem is
very low and he I do not play a lot when I use to be a starter. I use to have high hopes for a comeback, but recently my coach brought me down by
telling me that since I didn't play, the team won. He also made players from different teams come to a tournament and spend there money to stay
the night, but did not play them a single minute. He does not think of other people, only himself. My teammates are constantly told by him "you
will never be as fast as them so stop trying." He is now the most greediest 40 year old I know. However, he does not know he is greedy. I guess to
me there is only one definition of greed... the act of being selfish. In the long run, the greedy people because self conscious, angry, frustrated and
discontent with life because you are trying the hardest not to lose the wealth that was accumulated over time. Over time the greed takes over and you
lose what has real value to your life which are friends and

Defining Music Essay

Music
Music; Indefinable by words alone. It is not only something you can hear but what you can feel. It is something your soul is able to reach out and
touch. Music also has the power to bring us as humans, together. It is one language spoken by all cultures, sexes, races, age and religions. Music also
controls our emotions; it makes us happy, sad, angry, relaxed, etc. We also can express ourselves through music. It can affect our personality..

metal, and someone who listens to more upbeat happier music, like Ska or Swing, is more likely to...show more content...
This can be overwhelming to the listener. Knowing when and how much to utilize silence is part of listening, one of the key skills of any musician.
"Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it's not music"
Music is respect. Respect to ones self and to others, whether it is someone that has the same taste in music as you, or someone that has the complete
opposite taste as you. That's something I see happen way to much, people bashing on other people because of what they listen to. Instead of accepting
that everyone isn't going to like what you like. Music is supposed to be something we all have in common, it's supposed to bring us together and create
peace, not turn us against each other. It's something that we all do, including me at times. Not only in music but in everyday life.
Music originates from all over the world since the beginning of time. Complex or simple, fast or slow, loud or soft. It's what you feel. It could be your
method of escape or keeping you living. Music is love. Music is passion. Music is unity. Music is emotion. Music is belief. Music is beauty. Music is
life. Music is perfection. Music is imperfection. Music is peace. "Through music we can live forever."
"That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you." –The Shawshank

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house
was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A
rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and
you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and
your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of
promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even
though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that
most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

People with this disorder may not even want treatment or think they need it. People with antisocial personality disorder may also need treatment for other conditions, such as depression, anxiety or substance use disorders. Medical and mental health providers with experience treating antisocial personality disorder and commonly associated conditions are most likely to be helpful. • 2. What is Beauty? Essay What is beauty? How do we decide who is attractive and who is not? Society is full of information telling us what is beautiful, but what fact is that information based on? The topic of beauty has been studied, analyzed and controversial for centuries. We all know the feeling you can have when you hear a beautiful song that brings joy to your heart, stand in a field of flowers that excites your eyes, or admire a face that is visually pleasing. As human beings, we are all drawn to beauty, but what is it that makes something beautiful? The controversial issue that surrounds beauty is that some believe that true beauty is defined by someone's outer appearance, while others believe it is something that is experienced through a person's...show more content... In men the most desirable features are a big jaw and broad chin. Smooth skin, shiny hair, lean body and facial symmetry are also important qualities of beauty. Dateline conducted experiments to see if beautiful people were treated better than unattractive people. The results were an overwhelming, yes. Men would stop and help pretty women in distress every time, while they would walk right by a less attractive woman that needed help. Studies have consistently shown that attractive people get favorable treatment in many situations. They are more accepted in their peer groups, they receive better treatment in stores and restaurants, and they are hired more often with higher pay. Are these things that make up outer beauty more important than inner beauty? There are a large group of individuals who believe that outer beauty is temporary while inner beauty is untouchable and ever lasting, and that is what makes someone truly beautiful. Even photographers that photograph beautiful models say that they look for girls that portray a beautiful soul behind the face or a feeling of kindness that shows through. It is amazing how inner beauty can make an average looking person light up a room with there heart–stopping presence. It is a permanent quality which makes an individual interesting, reachable, and trustworthy. If you feel beautiful, your own confidence and self–worth brings out a glow of beauty that no outer beauty can compete with. If inner beauty is the genuine Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. What is Home? Essay What is home? If one looks in a dictionary the answer would come out to be, "The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household." However, for anyone who has had an actual home, they would know that such a term goes much beyond its concrete description. It is an impassioned aspect filled with values and foundation of nurturing. A home is not just an abode built to live in; in fact, that is just a definition of a house. Home is a place where one not only feels comfortable, but a place they look forward to opportunely live in every day. A home is built not by bricks or wood, but with the bond of family. A person could have every material entity in the entire world, but it would mean nothing if he does not have someone to share it with. In other words, home is also semantically related to sharing the happiness, grief, and material things with one's family. A home gives people a place to care about the people that mean the most to them. It is a place to tell amusing tales, a good story, or make memorable memories with one another. Furthermore, home is more than a place; it is a feeling. It is a feeling of contentment and happiness that they share with the ones they love. Moreover, home is when one knows they are with people that can drive them insane in a second, and the same people can make them happy in a second as well. Home means that no matter what one is going through, no matter how challenging life gets, there will be someone looking out for them. One knows that a place is their home when they are comfortable enough to present a true description of themselves, because they know that they will receive definitive acceptance. It is a sanctuary for them where they can do anything they please and not be judged afterwards. It is where one can share the absurdity of their day without any remorse or repercussions. The reason why people say that a person only has one true home is because one will Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay on Definitions of Health Definitions of health It is fairly difficult to define health as there are no agreements between scholars. This is why many sociologists focus their research on the different issues and problems of ill health. Positive definition of health: positive health looks at the physical, emotional, intellectual aspects of a person's wellbeing. This is in the way that they do not have any diseases or ailments. An example of the positive definition of health in a health and social care is a nurse in who is working in a hospital can say to one of their patients that have recently started exercising to become more 'healthier' 'you look very healthy'. World Health Organisation definition of health: the World Health Organisation defines health as "not merely an absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual and social well–being." (2013 K Pritchett Class Notes) An example of health defined by the World Health Organisation in a health and social care setting could be that in order for a patient of a doctors surgery to be healthy they would have to have a complete state of physical, mental, spiritual and social well–being. This means that if a patient was in a wheel chair they could never be seen as healthy as they do not have a complete state of physical well–being. The World Health Organisation thinks that people must have all complete aspects to be completely healthy. • 5. Dreams Definition Essay Dreams. We all have them. But why? What causes us to dream about the seemingly most random things? A dream, by definition, is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. Therefore, the quality of a person's sleep must somehow affect their dreaming patterns. There are 5 stages of sleep that a person passes through each night, supposing that the person actually goes to sleep. Stage 1 of sleep is very light and lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes. Brain activity lowers to around 50% or more. This slowly leads us into a deeper sleep and it is not uncommon to experience myoclonic jerks and hypnagogic imagery while thus stage progresses. During stage 2 of sleep our brain activity lowers even more and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Racism is believed to have existed as long as human beings have been in the world. It is usually associated with the skin color of a person, which makes one be distinguished from a certain race or community. The word racism happened to be common in 1600s due to the enslavement of the Africans by the Americans and Europeans. One of the common examples of racism was Americans' discrimination against the Africans during the early 1600s. In our daily lives, one may note that some activities tend to favor some people or a group that is dominant in a certain area. This can be considered institutional racism. According to Memmi (2000), institutional racism usually aims at barring anyone from interfering with the advantages of the dominant group in a given geographical location. The best example of this kind of racism was the Apartheid in South Africa. The British tried to protect their lavish lifestyles by preventing the Africans from attending the same schools with them. In addition, the Africans were not allowed to use the same roads or eat in the same cafes with the whites. Lastly, there is also new racism. Fredrickson (2003) considers new racism as covering the cultural matters. The belief that a certain race has a culture which is superior to that of another race is termed as new racism. Some communities may view the cultural practices of a certain community as inferior to theirs. Concerning this, they try to colonize the others through assimilating them into their culture. Culture is also concerned with the way people dress. In conclusion, there is an opinion that racism has existed since the BC era. Despite this, it is believed it actually commenced in 1619 when slavery arose in the US. During this period, people were enslaved and discriminated on the basis of their color type. • 7. Truth Essay Truth The question of right and wrong has been battled over for centuries. Many conservatives still believe that truth is absolute, while others disagree, saying that truth is relative. I believe that truth is an individual's perception of beliefs and decisions. For that reason, truth differentiates among individuals thorough their contrasting opinions. But, truth is something that everyone believes to be correct. Thus, it greatly depends on what's true in the minds of the people. On the contrary, truth that's spoken with bad intent is considered to be worse than a lie. Hence, truth is an expression, symbol or statement that corresponds to reality and happiness. Truth is dominated by one's subjective thoughts and beliefs. It is a...show more content... Nevertheless, I also consider truth to be absolute, and therefore, it is never right to do wrong. Truth is the purity that differentiates between right and wrong. "Absolute Truth" is true regardless of what we believe and think. Absolute truth stands on its own. In the sense, absolute truth is absolutely true no matter what evidence there is for it. Truth is what corresponds to the facts. Truth does not change just because we learn something about it. Also, truth is not always good to say. If the objective of telling the truth is to hurt someone, then it is considered to be inferior to a most terrible lie. For that reason, while speaking the truth we should keep in mind that it doesn't hurt someone else's feelings or relations. The problem we face is that, we feel the urge to tell the truth when we see it. But, we should try to accomplish this without disapproving condemnations that hurt others. So when we freely express harsh judgment of another, we are in fact talking about those negative qualities of ourselves that trouble us the most. Likewise, care should be taken that truth that's spoken for self–satisfaction does not impair someone else's life. Similarly, we should always bear in mind that at times lie can also be beneficial to say if, it brings happiness to others. Hence, if the truth is spoken with the purpose of destruction of something or someone then Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Men and woman being shot by police because of the color of their skin or what they believe in? Throughout society, the definition of racism varies drastically. Some people would define it as its definition, one race against another, then there are the other uninformed members of society who would define it as blacks against whites, but in all reality it's any race against another. Society defines racism as whites against blacks, or men against women or maybe cops against African Americans. We often classify the word discrimination. The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. If a person is shopping while wearing old clothes they may not be helped because they seem like they couldn't afford anything. If a man is married, people assume that he is more trustworthy. It's not necessarily true, but that's discrimination. The word racism is often used in place of the word discrimination. When a woman is denied a job because she is a woman, many women would say that that act one one of racism, yet a more acute word would be discrimination, because discrimination is negative judgment based on sex. Instability reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of maturity around the world. I do not hear the word greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. • 10. Defining Music Essay Nic Giordano Comp 1 Definition Essay Music Music; Indefinable by words alone. It is not only something you can hear but what you can feel. It is something your soul is able to reach out and touch. Music also has the power to bring us as humans, together. It is one language spoken by all cultures, sexes, races, age and religions. Music also controls our emotions; it makes us happy, sad, angry, relaxed, etc. We also can express ourselves through music. It can affect our personality.. someone who listens to classical, like Mozart or Bach, all the time is going to be smarter and more intellectual than someone who listens to rap or metal, and someone who listens to more upbeat happier music, like Ska or Swing, is more likely to...show more content... This can be overwhelming to the listener. Knowing when and how much to utilize silence is part of listening, one of the key skills of any musician. "Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it's not music" Music is respect. Respect to ones self and to others, whether it is someone that has the same taste in music as you, or someone that has the complete opposite taste as you. That's something I see happen way to much, people bashing on other people because of what they listen to. Instead of accepting that everyone isn't going to like what you like. Music is supposed to be something we all have in common, it's supposed to bring us together and create peace, not turn us against each other. It's something that we all do, including me at times. Not only in music but in everyday life. Music originates from all over the world since the beginning of time. Complex or simple, fast or slow, loud or soft. It's what you feel. It could be your method of escape or keeping you living. Music is love. Music is passion. Music is unity. Music is emotion. Music is belief. Music is beauty. Music is life. Music is perfection. Music is imperfection. Music is peace. "Through music we can live forever." "That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you." –The Shawshank

My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first –
