Reflective Self Assessment
Reflective Self–Assessment
The progress of my writing has consisted of overcoming struggles as well as enhancing my strengths. Some in which will include style, organization,
evidence, focused topic, etc. Undoubtedly, there are numerous elements of writing to establish a clear statement regarding the topic discussed. When I
first started out as a reader, I mostly focused on the intention that the author wanted to describe. Previously, when forming anessay regarding the article
it made me search for evidence that it was provided and the validation which supports it. Elements that I have concentrated and implemented onto the
introductions that describe an overview of the topic along.
Furthermore, some components that I consider while I'm beginning...show more content...
Although, most of the time I only encounter those difficulties when constructing a rough draft and put together the parts. In my opinion, the point of
writing is well and skills that would be essential to apply in the future is to be detail–oriented, patient, and organized. The skills that I have gained in
English 101, have affected my life by paying attention to the reasons people give to others in order to point out their intentions or persuasion. On the
other hand, the improvements have taken shape by accomplishing to a tenacious argument with contrasting essay styles. Some examples would be,
narrative, response, exemplification, compare/contrast, etc. To conclude, additional time is vital to generate an analysis of my own writing and focus
on the sections which redirect to another text to create a bold statement or

Physics of Semiconductors Essay
Semiconductors were being studied in laboratories as early as the 1830's. The materials were usually poor conductors if heated and often carried
photoelectric properties. (Electrical production by shining light on the material.) Soon, this property of changing conductivity would become of vital
importance to the world of electronics and communications. (Micron) Common semiconductors include silicon, zinc and germanium; however, silicon
is by far the most widely implemented due to its abundance. Also, its reasonable speed, simple processing, and useful temperature range make it a good
choice among other semiconductors. (Wikipedia – Semiconductor Device) This element has been used to make cast iron, bricks, and pottery, and glass,

In atoms, electrons are divided into energy levels which tend to form bands. The highest, filled energy level at which electrons occupy is called the
valence band and the first level above the valence band is known as the conduction band. The valence electrons do not participate in conduction. In
metals, the valence and conduction bands overlap and allow free electrons to participate in conduction, however, insulators have an energy gap that is
far greater than the thermal energy of the electron. Semiconductors are somewhere between these two extremes, having an energy gap around 1 eV.
(Britney's Guide)
Semiconductors can be elements such as Germanium, Zinc, and Silicon, or compounds. Also, some semiconductor materials can be intrinsic (pure
semiconductors) or extrinsic. An intrinsic semiconductor is normally used in conjunction with thermal or optical excitement to raise electrons from the
valence band to the conduction band.
An extrinsic semiconductor is formed by "doping" the intrinsic semiconductor material with a VERY small number of impurity atoms. Doping takes an
intrinsic semiconductor and adds or subtracts electrons from the material creating or destroying "holes". These holes flow in the opposite direction of
the charge and are the result of an electron leaving it's parent atom and creating a vacancy for another electron to fill. The number of electrons headed

Kelley V. University Of Illinois: Case Study
Titles and Citation: Kelley v. Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, 1993
Facts:
Members of the University of Illinois's men's swim team filed a lawsuit in 1993 claiming that the school was discriminating against them by cutting
their team and not the women's swim team. The members claimed that this decision was in violation of Title IX, a law that prohibited discrimination on
the basis of gender, along with the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The University of Illinois made the decision to cut the men's
swim team due to budgetary limitations. Along with the men's swim team, the men's diving, men's fencing, and women's diving team were also cut for
the same reason. There were many instances previous to this case where female athletes have filed lawsuits claiming that they were being discriminated
against, and that the institution was in violation of...show more content...
In 1993, the law was converted from a statute that outlawed discrimination on the basis of gender, largely exclusion from participation opportunities
(athletics), to one that provides "equal opportunity for members of both sexes." Title IX is largely statistical, as most higher learning institutions strive
to have very close to an equal percentage of women and men involved in athletics with respect to enrollment. Many decisions regarding Title IX are
made for statistical purposes only.
Fourteenth Amendment (Equal Protection Clause): For one to file an equal protection claim, one has to prove that the "government intentionally
discriminated against the plaintiff by classifying him or her for different treatment under the law than one similarly situated." For the equal protection
clause to be violated, a government has to group individuals in such a way that denies them certain rights or provides different treatment on the basis of
traits they have no control over.

Definition Of Privilege Essay
"Privilege." What really is a privilege? Do you even consider yourself privileged? Well, the word "privilege" means "a special right, advantage, or
immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group of people" and whether or not you consider yourself privileged really depends on
how you define the word and whether you take it for granted or not.
For those in poverty, the word "privilege" means having access to clean drinking water, having food to eat, being employed, having functional clothes,
etc. These are not only privileges, but they are needed for human survival. However, what is considered privilege today is not a matter of survival
needs, they are rather wants. Wants are things that entertain and satisfy us, things such as the new iPhones, new tablets, new computers, new clothing
line, and any other exclusive things that are not needed for survival. In some parts of the world there are a lack of toilets, bathrooms, or even toilet paper
for that matter. Food is worked for rather than bought, and everything is self–taught and self–serviced. Transportation is by foot rather than any
transportation vehicle or even a bicycle for that matter. Today, these

clean drinking water. More evidence by Home–Water–Works.org shows that the average American used about 17.2 gallons of water in a given
shower. Everyday 5.5 billion gallons of water is used and with that amount of water you can supply those eight million people for 1,380 days and
that's only the amount of water used in a shower per day in the U.S. Given the conservation of water and donation, we can save millions of people. If
half a gallon is needed a day and with the donation of about $50 a day, and given half a gallon of water cost about .61 cents, we can save 164

Racial Microaggression
Racial microaggression is happening mostly all over North America, even in the 21st century, where I thought racism would have ended. It would
happen in schools, on the streets, and in many more places. Dr. Derald Wang Sue, a professor in Columbia University and the leading researcher on
this field, describes microaggressions as "brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral and environmental indignities, whether intentional or
unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory or negative racial slights and insults to the target person or group" (Graere, 2014). The word
"racial microaggressions" was penned in the 1970s, by Dr. Chester M. Pierce, a professor of education and psychiatry in Harvard University, and then
used by race theorists and sociologists in the later years. (Vega, 2014). Actions, such as a Caucasian (or white) woman clutching her purse when
passing by a noticeably African (or Black) person; and having a few people from a minority group amongst a group of Caucasian people in a school
play, and statements, such as "The reason you are able to get into this institution is that you're black" ; "The government feels bad for you"; "You
speak English so fluently. Don't you have an accent?" ; "I don't see you as a Latino [or] Asian [or] Black [or] Middle Eastern" , "You're Asian! You
must be really smart"; and "Rapping suits you as you're black. You should be a rapper!", to name a few, do affect heavily and negatively on the

Endodontics Essay
When it comes to flashing your smile, you would often brood over the kind of teeth that you have encircled within your mouth. Would it not be a
leading concern of anybody? The level of self–confidence plus the manner of dealing with your relations publicly and professionally are utterly
affected by the way your teeth are arranged. How much more when you have decomposed or plague–ridden teeth? The more that you need to submit
yourself to root canal treatment in Gurgaon!
What is Endodontics?
To simply put, endodontics is the segment of dentistry which tackles the apprehensions about the ailments that highlight the pulp of the tooth. The pulp
is sited right in the core of the tooth as well as in the canals within the root of every tooth. The pulp encloses the blood vessels, the nerves, and the
connective tissues and it is similarly the one...show more content...
pulp infection and pulp damage. Any cavity that rests untreated is the root cause of pulp infection. The decay is the foundation which wears away the
dentin and enamel of the tooth until such time that it leads you to the root canal. With this, the pulp gets predisposed to bacterial septicity. Usually,
antibiotics would be taken to pacify the pain away but the truth is, the septicity that lies inside the teeth could never be treated. As the infection gets
harsh, it brings forth swelling which then lessens the supply of blood into the tooth and that leads to the boundless agony since it rids the healing of the
pulp. Another reason that must provoke you to undergo root canal treatment is owing to the impairment in the pulp that could not be fixed by any
means. Fracture or trauma to the tooth could result in the damage of the pulp. The same thing happens when excessive restoration or fillings have been
applied in the same tooth time and again. Another is the application of a crown and other dental techniques would also cause the injury of the

Essay Growing Up
When I Grow Up..
"Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up."
–AmberGrace Seguin
Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood
thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it
is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it
finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting.

"The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives
himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once convinced
ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we
think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave
for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was
simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it.

WHAT DO I TITLE THIS WITH
In today's current events the names Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown have become very familiar, unfortunately in a rather negative way. Both men
happened to be African–Americans who were shot and killed by policemen identified as being Caucasian men which raised the concern whether if
both cases were examples of racial profiling. Racial profiling is the use of an individual's race or ethnicity as a main factor in deciding whether to
engage in enforcement. Simply put it is the use of racial stereotypes and the act of discrimination upon a victim in a demeaning manner. For example:
stricter security clearances for Muslims at airports due to the 9/11 terrorist attack or banning Aboriginals from a bar because they will become rowdy
when drunk. With all the advancements in today's society – economically, technologically and socially etc. one would think that racial profiling and
racism in general would be a thing of the past but yet t is the headline of many newspapers. Racial profiling is not only a social injustice but a
prejudice against potential victims that must be removed from today's society and can be achieved so through self–reflection, acting virtuously and
taking initiative.
The first dimension of conscience is capacity which is the ability to recognize the good and search for it. The good is to treat others equally as well as
recognize the fact that we are all guilty somehow. Sadly,

Essay On Toxic Masculinity
Toxic In the world people idolize the idea of the aggressive and powerful man, but this is a dangerous icon to present to children. Taken to an
extreme it can cause the cycle of toxic masculinity to begin. Toxic masculinity is a dangerous set of ideals and beliefs, it provides a dangerous
mindset of violent behavior to young boys, leads to anger issues, depression, and a severe urge to compensate for perceived inadequacies by the use of
violence in the teenage years, can lead to an adulthood filled with violence towards family, and others, and allows the cycle to repeat. At an early age
boys are presented the idea of the hyper–aggressive male by family, friends, media, and the young boy is taught, or feels the need to fill into that...show

What was just imagined was a simple game of dodgeball, but in the mind full of toxic masculinity it is inseparable, it is not a game, it is the real
deal, the final stand. The need to feel adequate can overtime cause a deficit internally, making a hollow feeling that the teen cannot express,
because it is a sign of weakness, this leads to depression, and possibly suicide. On the flip side, if the boy does try to acknowledge the problem,
then he does show his weakness, and others make fun of the boy for it, because he was weak. When the teen reaches adulthood, it is more likely
than not that they will appear in the typical wife beater attire, because with the ideals of toxic masculinity with him, that is precisely the next step.
He stays out late and does cocaine and picks up working girls after his construction job, he comes home to his wife who has waited for him so he
can eat, he grabs her and yells at her, he calls her names and accuses her of being unfaithful, he beats her until she is black and blue and leaves her
crying on the kitchen floor. The man falls asleep, and the next day, the boy messes a chore up, and he yells and smacks his son around, and when
the boy cries, he yells even more, telling him to toughen up, stop being a sissy; the boy learns his lesson, and a few years later winds up beating a kid
he was picking on until he's got a few broken ribs, and a swollen eye,

World Class Education Research Paper
All children deserve to have a world class education no matter their race, religion, family background or their financial status. For a child to succeed
in life they will need a solid education to ensure they are prepared to be a productive member of society when they graduate high school or college.
America's schools are responsible for meeting the educational needs of the increasingly diverse student population. However, the Elementary and
Secondary Act (ESEA) programs need to be able to provide a multitude of resources to support to ensure all students have opportunity to be successful.
Furthermore, today's teacher has to be observant and vigilant when it comes to their classroom, teachers have to keep a keen out for their students that

Essay about Justification Of Violence
Justification of Violence
Violence and the justification of it has been an issue for as long as the world has been in existence. There are many conflicting opinions on the
subject, many in favor and many opposing the idea. I am personally split on the issue; I believe that in some cases, violence can be justified; however,
I also believe that in others, it cannot be.
In my opinion, the only instance in which violence can be justified is self–defense. I believe that if an innocent person is attacked for some reason and
their life is put in danger, they have the right to fight back to save themselves. How can a person let themselves be attacked and do nothing to help
themselves survive? It's almost unreasonable to believe that. There are...show more content...
But, I believe that when you hit a child when they do something wrong, they don't repeat the action because they're afraid of the consequences, rather
than understanding why they shouldn't do it again. It gives the wrong impression on the child and teaches them that violence is okay if you're trying to
teach someone a lesson, so they carry this over into their lives when they get older, and the chain of violence is never broken.
War, in general, I believe, is ineffective. I think that it totally uses the wrong reasons for countries to agree to compromise. It's amazing that before war,
countries are totally against one another, yet after blowing away half of each other's population, they're willing to talk. It makes you think.
I think that if countries would talk out their problems in a more peaceful manner, they would much easier come up with plans that would include
both of their needs and desires. I think the world uses war in the wrong way; they're in wars to show their own power and prove themselves to the
world. War is not only bad because of those reasons. It is also negative because innocent men and women from the involved countries are killed. Even
if they couldn't care less about what was going on, they are drafted to fight for their country. And many of them die, which is really depressing, because
they didn't

Anti Discrimination Law
This article relates to the legal environment of business because it is centered on the anti–discrimination laws associated with title VII of the 1964 civil
rights act. The Employees in this case accuse the CEO of multiple factions of racism including, Age, Color, and sex. The issue, if proven to have
substance, could lead compensatory damages, equitable relief, and quite possibly punitive damages. It will be the defendant's jobs to prove that the
employment decisions he made were based on other, non–discriminatory factors. The same–decision defense seems to be his best offer, and if he is
unable to prove a lack of connection between his actions and discriminatory factors, he may suffer serious loss.

Fahrenheit 451 Section Title Analysis Essay
The Hearth and the Salamander is the title of the first section of Fahrenheit 451. The meaning of The Hearth and the Salamander can be symbolic
and straight forward. The word "hearth" is a brick/stone fireplace, often with an oven, used for heating and originally also used for cooking food.
Since the hearth is usually a home's central and most important feature, which the concept has been generalized to refer to the household, as "hearth
and home" and "keep the home fires burning". The salamander is one of the official symbols of the firemen in the book, as well as what they call
their fire trucks. There are ancient beliefs that salamanders live in fire and is unaffected by flames. Both of these symbols are related to fire, the image

Later in the book, Montag was on the train trying to memorize the bible in fear that he could have the last copy. He was reading as fast as possible
hoping that the information in the bible would stay in his mind. An advertisement was making him loose concentration and therefore the information
was slipping through his mind. It reminded him of the "Sieve and the Sand" incident from earlier in his life that was so upsetting to him. The modern
world in the novel counts on this inability to concentrate. This life without books has encouraged people to live for moment so to speak. Everywhere
you go there's mindless sound such as the advertisement that makes people to be unable concentrate and seriously think. People who can't think are
more easily controlled. Montag feel as if banning books has made people's minds turn into sieves unable to hold thought. Burning Bright has a title
that to me symbolizes how the story ends because of why it began. That being fire. However the fire I'm talking about is not just combustion. Earlier
in the story Clarisse asked Guy questions that burned in his mind eventually making him question his occupation and his lifestyle. Of course there was
plenty of combustion in the story with the burning of books, the dropping of bombs and the "firing" of Beatty. Not only did this fire have a negative
impact in the beginning but eventually Montag realized that setting his house on fire was satisfying. It became

Essay On Vaccinating Children
The decision to protect and vaccinate a child is in the parents hands. There are ten vaccines recommended by the Center for Disease Control that every
child should receive 9 vaccines before the age of six. The vaccines mimic the infection of certain diseases in the child's body to prompt the immune
system to produce antibodies which fight against the disease. The vaccinations work to prevent serious diseases such as, hepatitis A and B, rotavirus,
polio, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, meningitis, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis which is known as whopping cough (Boulanger, 2017). The
requirement of children receiving certain vaccinations has been up for discussion since the 1980s, but various vaccines have been around since the mid
1800s....show more content...
It's important to understand that the Center for Disease control runs multiples tests to keep the people in our country safe. They have the time and the
amount of vaccine each baby should receive on a schedule that is safe for their bodies. Most vaccines are separated into four or five doses and are
administered over the course of two years of the child's life. All doctors guide parents through the process and inform them on the schedule of
vaccinations. There has been speculation and studies presenting negative effects of the vaccines, but there is nothing saying that all shots cause
negative effects. One of the most common and widely spoken about effect is the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shot causing autism. It has been
thought that children receiving their scheduled MMR shot have an increased risk of developing autism. Any and all medical interventions have
potential risks. With all studies working to prove this claim, not one can confirm it. Further research and evidence needs to be provided for this claim
to be credible. Important medical organizations such as the Center for Disease control, Food and Drug Administration and the American Medical
Association would not approve of vaccinations if they put humans at great

Effects Of Racism On The Black Community
The Effects of Racism on The Black Community
Introduction
The problems of racism and police shooting unarmed blacks has brought a negative sociological perspective of both fear and hate in black and minority
communities. We should continue to raise awareness of this issue with law enforcement and the communities they serve. Law enforcement represents
visible characteristics of governance in the United States. In the United States, for instance, law enforcement has been mandated and entrusted with the
responsibility of enforcing the law and ensuring that it is maintained. As a democratic society, law enforcement often adopts the role of being the
agents of social control and accountability. For as long as they have existed, law enforcement has received enormous amounts of public scrutiny for
issues such as corruption, unfairness, lack of professionalism and excessive application of force when handling the public. But the police's lowest mark
in the communities is by far for shooting unarmed black men. They have been criticized for contributing to a significant number of racially charged
killings throughout the United States. Social injustice and racial profiling continues to be a part of the African American community. There were
1152 people killed by police in 2015, 30% of victims were black, only 13% of the US is black and 97% of deaths were not followed by any charges
against police officers (mappingpoliceviloence.org, US Census Bureau). These

Redemption Essay
The literal definition of the word "redemption" is the act, process, or an instance of redeeming (forgiven). When I as a human being think of
redemption I think of it as a way to accept, forgive and move on after an instance of extreme, usually emotional, infliction. When we think of this in
terms of prison, humans are put into isolation where they are given ample time to logically think of these trespasses and how they are paying for it
with their lives. At the same time these people are doing very manual labor while getting 'paid' very little in order to redeem themselves to hopefully
regain some rank again in society. In life where most of us live outside walls redemption comes in many different forms, although not all as painful.

When I myself am witness to acts of injustice my first reaction is usually anger, frustration which is then followed by a very vocal complaint. The
same reactions come about when I myself am put under circumstances of injustice and I can only hope, but am not certain, that this is something
regularly occurs with humans in general. I would have to say that some of the factors that contribute to the ways that I respond to injustice would
be feelings that had occurred as a child when put into unjust situations as well as knowledge that I was given while growing up in both educational
institutions as well as living in general. While I watched the movie Shawshank Redemption I witness an idea developed mainly by Stephen King
that basically gave me hope by helping me see that due to what I call karma, the people that are exaggerating unjust behavior will eventually get
what is coming to them. This is displayed well by the showing of all the ignorant behavior put on by the warden and what happened to him in the
end. In our society taking away a persons freedom is considered justice because at this point these people do not have a choice. The choices that they
have made so far have only gotten them into trouble, now they have given that up and are subjected to be treated basically like a slave. Solitary
confinement is considered the most severe punishment that we can inflict in our justice system as

Reflective Self Assessment

  • 1. Reflective Self Assessment Reflective Self–Assessment The progress of my writing has consisted of overcoming struggles as well as enhancing my strengths. Some in which will include style, organization, evidence, focused topic, etc. Undoubtedly, there are numerous elements of writing to establish a clear statement regarding the topic discussed. When I first started out as a reader, I mostly focused on the intention that the author wanted to describe. Previously, when forming anessay regarding the article it made me search for evidence that it was provided and the validation which supports it. Elements that I have concentrated and implemented onto the introductions that describe an overview of the topic along. Furthermore, some components that I consider while I'm beginning...show more content... The skills that I have gained in English 101, have affected my life by paying attention to the reasons people give to others in order to point out their intentions or persuasion. On the other hand, the improvements have taken shape by accomplishing to a tenacious argument with contrasting essay styles. Some examples would be, narrative, response, exemplification, compare/contrast, etc. To conclude, additional time is vital to generate an analysis of my own writing and focus on the sections which redirect to another text to create a bold statement or Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Physics of Semiconductors Essay Semiconductors were being studied in laboratories as early as the 1830's. The materials were usually poor conductors if heated and often carried photoelectric properties. (Electrical production by shining light on the material.) Soon, this property of changing conductivity would become of vital importance to the world of electronics and communications. (Micron) Common semiconductors include silicon, zinc and germanium; however, silicon is by far the most widely implemented due to its abundance. Also, its reasonable speed, simple processing, and useful temperature range make it a good choice among other semiconductors. (Wikipedia – Semiconductor Device) This element has been used to make cast iron, bricks, and pottery, and glass, but it...show more content... In atoms, electrons are divided into energy levels which tend to form bands. The highest, filled energy level at which electrons occupy is called the valence band and the first level above the valence band is known as the conduction band. The valence electrons do not participate in conduction. In metals, the valence and conduction bands overlap and allow free electrons to participate in conduction, however, insulators have an energy gap that is far greater than the thermal energy of the electron. Semiconductors are somewhere between these two extremes, having an energy gap around 1 eV. (Britney's Guide) Semiconductors can be elements such as Germanium, Zinc, and Silicon, or compounds. Also, some semiconductor materials can be intrinsic (pure semiconductors) or extrinsic. An intrinsic semiconductor is normally used in conjunction with thermal or optical excitement to raise electrons from the valence band to the conduction band. An extrinsic semiconductor is formed by "doping" the intrinsic semiconductor material with a VERY small number of impurity atoms. Doping takes an intrinsic semiconductor and adds or subtracts electrons from the material creating or destroying "holes". These holes flow in the opposite direction of the charge and are the result of an electron leaving it's parent atom and creating a vacancy for another electron to fill. The number of electrons headed in one Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, 1993 Facts: Members of the University of Illinois's men's swim team filed a lawsuit in 1993 claiming that the school was discriminating against them by cutting their team and not the women's swim team. The members claimed that this decision was in violation of Title IX, a law that prohibited discrimination on the basis of gender, along with the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The University of Illinois made the decision to cut the men's swim team due to budgetary limitations. Along with the men's swim team, the men's diving, men's fencing, and women's diving team were also cut for the same reason. There were many instances previous to this case where female athletes have filed lawsuits claiming that they were being discriminated against, and that the institution was in violation of...show more content... In 1993, the law was converted from a statute that outlawed discrimination on the basis of gender, largely exclusion from participation opportunities (athletics), to one that provides "equal opportunity for members of both sexes." Many decisions regarding Title IX are made for statistical purposes only. Fourteenth Amendment (Equal Protection Clause): For one to file an equal protection claim, one has to prove that the "government intentionally discriminated against the plaintiff by classifying him or her for different treatment under the law than one similarly situated." For the equal protection clause to be violated, a government has to group individuals in such a way that denies them certain rights or provides different treatment on the basis of traits they have no control over. • 5. Definition Of Privilege Essay "Privilege." What really is a privilege? Do you even consider yourself privileged? Well, the word "privilege" means "a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group of people" and whether or not you consider yourself privileged really depends on how you define the word and whether you take it for granted or not. For those in poverty, the word "privilege" means having access to clean drinking water, having food to eat, being employed, having functional clothes, etc. These are not only privileges, but they are needed for human survival. However, what is considered privilege today is not a matter of survival needs, they are rather wants. Wants are things that entertain and satisfy us, things such as the new iPhones, new tablets, new computers, new clothing line, and any other exclusive things that are not needed for survival. In some parts of the world there are a lack of toilets, bathrooms, or even toilet paper for that matter. Food is worked for rather than bought, and everything is self–taught and self–serviced. Transportation is by foot rather than any transportation vehicle or even a bicycle for that matter. Today, these ...show more content... Everyday 5.5 billion gallons of water is used and with that amount of water you can supply those eight million people for 1,380 days and that's only the amount of water used in a shower per day in the U.S. Given the conservation of water and donation, we can save millions of people. • 6. Racial Microaggression Racial microaggression is happening mostly all over North America, even in the 21st century, where I thought racism would have ended. It would happen in schools, on the streets, and in many more places. Dr. Derald Wang Sue, a professor in Columbia University and the leading researcher on this field, describes microaggressions as "brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory or negative racial slights and insults to the target person or group" (Graere, 2014). The word "racial microaggressions" was penned in the 1970s, by Dr. Chester M. Pierce, a professor of education and psychiatry in Harvard University, and then used by race theorists and sociologists in the later years. (Vega, 2014). Actions, such as a Caucasian (or white) woman clutching her purse when passing by a noticeably African (or Black) person; and having a few people from a minority group amongst a group of Caucasian people in a school play, and statements, such as "The reason you are able to get into this institution is that you're black" ; "The government feels bad for you"; "You speak English so fluently. Don't you have an accent?" ; "I don't see you as a Latino [or] Asian [or] Black [or] Middle Eastern" , "You're Asian! You must be really smart"; and "Rapping suits you as you're black. You should be a rapper!", to name a few, do affect heavily and negatively on the targeted racialized minority groups. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

How much more when you have decomposed or plague–ridden teeth? The more that you need to submit yourself to root canal treatment in Gurgaon! What is Endodontics? To simply put, endodontics is the segment of dentistry which tackles the apprehensions about the ailments that highlight the pulp of the tooth. The pulp is sited right in the core of the tooth as well as in the canals within the root of every tooth. The pulp encloses the blood vessels, the nerves, and the connective tissues and it is similarly the one...show more content... pulp infection and pulp damage. Any cavity that rests untreated is the root cause of pulp infection. The decay is the foundation which wears away the dentin and enamel of the tooth until such time that it leads you to the root canal. With this, the pulp gets predisposed to bacterial septicity. Usually, antibiotics would be taken to pacify the pain away but the truth is, the septicity that lies inside the teeth could never be treated. As the infection gets harsh, it brings forth swelling which then lessens the supply of blood into the tooth and that leads to the boundless agony since it rids the healing of the pulp. Another reason that must provoke you to undergo root canal treatment is owing to the impairment in the pulp that could not be fixed by any means. Fracture or trauma to the tooth could result in the damage of the pulp. The same thing happens when excessive restoration or fillings have been applied in the same tooth time and again. • 8. Essay Growing Up When I Grow Up.. "Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up." –AmberGrace Seguin Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting. We once convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it. • 9. What Do I Title This With? Tiffany Dagus HRE4M1 Mr. Dispasquale January 09, 2015 WHAT DO I TITLE THIS WITH In today's current events the names Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown have become very familiar, unfortunately in a rather negative way. Both men happened to be African–Americans who were shot and killed by policemen identified as being Caucasian men which raised the concern whether if both cases were examples of racial profiling. Racial profiling is the use of an individual's race or ethnicity as a main factor in deciding whether to engage in enforcement. Simply put it is the use of racial stereotypes and the act of discrimination upon a victim in a demeaning manner. For example: stricter security clearances for Muslims at airports due to the 9/11 terrorist attack or banning Aboriginals from a bar because they will become rowdy when drunk. With all the advancements in today's society – economically, technologically and socially etc. one would think that racial profiling and racism in general would be a thing of the past but yet t is the headline of many newspapers. Racial profiling is not only a social injustice but a prejudice against potential victims that must be removed from today's society and can be achieved so through self–reflection, acting virtuously and taking initiative. The first dimension of conscience is capacity which is the ability to recognize the good and search for it. The good is to treat others equally as well as recognize the fact that we are all guilty somehow. Sadly, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Essay On Toxic Masculinity Toxic In the world people idolize the idea of the aggressive and powerful man, but this is a dangerous icon to present to children. Taken to an extreme it can cause the cycle of toxic masculinity to begin. Toxic masculinity is a dangerous set of ideals and beliefs, it provides a dangerous mindset of violent behavior to young boys, leads to anger issues, depression, and a severe urge to compensate for perceived inadequacies by the use of violence in the teenage years, can lead to an adulthood filled with violence towards family, and others, and allows the cycle to repeat. At an early age boys are presented the idea of the hyper–aggressive male by family, friends, media, and the young boy is taught, or feels the need to fill into that...show more content... What was just imagined was a simple game of dodgeball, but in the mind full of toxic masculinity it is inseparable, it is not a game, it is the real deal, the final stand. The need to feel adequate can overtime cause a deficit internally, making a hollow feeling that the teen cannot express, because it is a sign of weakness, this leads to depression, and possibly suicide. On the flip side, if the boy does try to acknowledge the problem, then he does show his weakness, and others make fun of the boy for it, because he was weak. When the teen reaches adulthood, it is more likely than not that they will appear in the typical wife beater attire, because with the ideals of toxic masculinity with him, that is precisely the next step. He stays out late and does cocaine and picks up working girls after his construction job, he comes home to his wife who has waited for him so he can eat, he grabs her and yells at her, he calls her names and accuses her of being unfaithful, he beats her until she is black and blue and leaves her crying on the kitchen floor. The man falls asleep, and the next day, the boy messes a chore up, and he yells and smacks his son around, and when the boy cries, he yells even more, telling him to toughen up, stop being a sissy; the boy learns his lesson, and a few years later winds up beating a kid he was picking on until he's got a few broken ribs, and a swollen eye, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For a child to succeed in life they will need a solid education to ensure they are prepared to be a productive member of society when they graduate high school or college. America's schools are responsible for meeting the educational needs of the increasingly diverse student population. However, the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA) programs need to be able to provide a multitude of resources to support to ensure all students have opportunity to be successful. • 12. Essay about Justification Of Violence Justification of Violence Violence and the justification of it has been an issue for as long as the world has been in existence. There are many conflicting opinions on the subject, many in favor and many opposing the idea. I am personally split on the issue; I believe that in some cases, violence can be justified; however, I also believe that in others, it cannot be. In my opinion, the only instance in which violence can be justified is self–defense. I believe that if an innocent person is attacked for some reason and their life is put in danger, they have the right to fight back to save themselves. How can a person let themselves be attacked and do nothing to help themselves survive? It's almost unreasonable to believe that. There are...show more content... But, I believe that when you hit a child when they do something wrong, they don't repeat the action because they're afraid of the consequences, rather than understanding why they shouldn't do it again. It gives the wrong impression on the child and teaches them that violence is okay if you're trying to teach someone a lesson, so they carry this over into their lives when they get older, and the chain of violence is never broken. War, in general, I believe, is ineffective. I think that it totally uses the wrong reasons for countries to agree to compromise. It's amazing that before war, countries are totally against one another, yet after blowing away half of each other's population, they're willing to talk. It makes you think. I think that if countries would talk out their problems in a more peaceful manner, they would much easier come up with plans that would include both of their needs and desires. I think the world uses war in the wrong way; they're in wars to show their own power and prove themselves to the world. War is not only bad because of those reasons. It is also negative because innocent men and women from the involved countries are killed. Even if they couldn't care less about what was going on, they are drafted to fight for their country. And many of them die, which is really depressing, because they didn't Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The Employees in this case accuse the CEO of multiple factions of racism including, Age, Color, and sex. The issue, if proven to have substance, could lead compensatory damages, equitable relief, and quite possibly punitive damages. It will be the defendant's jobs to prove that the employment decisions he made were based on other, non–discriminatory factors. The meaning of The Hearth and the Salamander can be symbolic and straight forward. The word "hearth" is a brick/stone fireplace, often with an oven, used for heating and originally also used for cooking food. Since the hearth is usually a home's central and most important feature, which the concept has been generalized to refer to the household, as "hearth and home" and "keep the home fires burning". The salamander is one of the official symbols of the firemen in the book, as well as what they call their fire trucks. There are ancient beliefs that salamanders live in fire and is unaffected by flames. Both of these symbols are related to fire, the image that...show more content... Later in the book, Montag was on the train trying to memorize the bible in fear that he could have the last copy. He was reading as fast as possible hoping that the information in the bible would stay in his mind. An advertisement was making him loose concentration and therefore the information was slipping through his mind. It reminded him of the "Sieve and the Sand" incident from earlier in his life that was so upsetting to him. The modern world in the novel counts on this inability to concentrate. This life without books has encouraged people to live for moment so to speak. Everywhere you go there's mindless sound such as the advertisement that makes people to be unable concentrate and seriously think. People who can't think are more easily controlled. Montag feel as if banning books has made people's minds turn into sieves unable to hold thought. Burning Bright has a title that to me symbolizes how the story ends because of why it began. That being fire. However the fire I'm talking about is not just combustion. Earlier in the story Clarisse asked Guy questions that burned in his mind eventually making him question his occupation and his lifestyle. Of course there was plenty of combustion in the story with the burning of books, the dropping of bombs and the "firing" of Beatty. Not only did this fire have a negative impact in the beginning but eventually Montag realized that setting his house on fire was satisfying. It became Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Essay On Vaccinating Children The decision to protect and vaccinate a child is in the parents hands. There are ten vaccines recommended by the Center for Disease Control that every child should receive 9 vaccines before the age of six. The vaccines mimic the infection of certain diseases in the child's body to prompt the immune system to produce antibodies which fight against the disease. The vaccinations work to prevent serious diseases such as, hepatitis A and B, rotavirus, polio, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, meningitis, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis which is known as whopping cough (Boulanger, 2017). The requirement of children receiving certain vaccinations has been up for discussion since the 1980s, but various vaccines have been around since the mid 1800s....show more content... It's important to understand that the Center for Disease control runs multiples tests to keep the people in our country safe. They have the time and the amount of vaccine each baby should receive on a schedule that is safe for their bodies. Most vaccines are separated into four or five doses and are administered over the course of two years of the child's life. All doctors guide parents through the process and inform them on the schedule of vaccinations. There has been speculation and studies presenting negative effects of the vaccines, but there is nothing saying that all shots cause negative effects. One of the most common and widely spoken about effect is the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shot causing autism. It has been thought that children receiving their scheduled MMR shot have an increased risk of developing autism. Any and all medical interventions have potential risks. With all studies working to prove this claim, not one can confirm it. Further research and evidence needs to be provided for this claim to be credible. Important medical organizations such as the Center for Disease control, Food and Drug Administration and the American Medical Association would not approve of vaccinations if they put humans at great Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Effects Of Racism On The Black Community The Effects of Racism on The Black Community Introduction The problems of racism and police shooting unarmed blacks has brought a negative sociological perspective of both fear and hate in black and minority communities. We should continue to raise awareness of this issue with law enforcement and the communities they serve. Law enforcement represents visible characteristics of governance in the United States. In the United States, for instance, law enforcement has been mandated and entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing the law and ensuring that it is maintained. As a democratic society, law enforcement often adopts the role of being the agents of social control and accountability. For as long as they have existed, law enforcement has received enormous amounts of public scrutiny for issues such as corruption, unfairness, lack of professionalism and excessive application of force when handling the public. But the police's lowest mark in the communities is by far for shooting unarmed black men. They have been criticized for contributing to a significant number of racially charged killings throughout the United States. Social injustice and racial profiling continues to be a part of the African American community. There were 1152 people killed by police in 2015, 30% of victims were black, only 13% of the US is black and 97% of deaths were not followed by any charges against police officers (mappingpoliceviloence.org, US Census Bureau). • 18. Redemption Essay The literal definition of the word "redemption" is the act, process, or an instance of redeeming (forgiven). When I as a human being think of redemption I think of it as a way to accept, forgive and move on after an instance of extreme, usually emotional, infliction. When we think of this in terms of prison, humans are put into isolation where they are given ample time to logically think of these trespasses and how they are paying for it with their lives. At the same time these people are doing very manual labor while getting 'paid' very little in order to redeem themselves to hopefully regain some rank again in society. In life where most of us live outside walls redemption comes in many different forms, although not all as painful. ...show more content... When I myself am witness to acts of injustice my first reaction is usually anger, frustration which is then followed by a very vocal complaint. The same reactions come about when I myself am put under circumstances of injustice and I can only hope, but am not certain, that this is something regularly occurs with humans in general. I would have to say that some of the factors that contribute to the ways that I respond to injustice would be feelings that had occurred as a child when put into unjust situations as well as knowledge that I was given while growing up in both educational institutions as well as living in general. While I watched the movie Shawshank Redemption I witness an idea developed mainly by Stephen King that basically gave me hope by helping me see that due to what I call karma, the people that are exaggerating unjust behavior will eventually get what is coming to them. This is displayed well by the showing of all the ignorant behavior put on by the warden and what happened to him in the end. In our society taking away a persons freedom is considered justice because at this point these people do not have a choice. The choices that they have made so far have only gotten them into trouble, now they have given that up and are subjected to be treated basically like a slave. Solitary confinement is considered the most severe punishment that we can inflict in our justice system as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
