2. Definiton
Monkeypox is a diseas
caused by viruses . Originally
, it occurred is apes and other
animals , but was later
transmitted from animals to
people . Then person – to –
person transmission was
added.
3. Symptoms
Monkeypox causes : Fever , skin rash , headache , back
and muscle aches , chills , tiredness , and swollen
lymph nodes .
Most of the cases are resolve in 2 to 4 weeks.
4. How is it contagious ?
• The most common route of transmission of monkeypox from
infected animal to people is direct contact with the rash ,
scabs , scales , or fluids from infectious lesions, saliva ,or
infected body fluids , including respiratory secretions.
5. Healing
There is no specific treatment for monkeypox . Because the viruses
that cause monkeypox and smallpox are closely related , drugs and
vaccines develops to treat and protect againts smallpox may be
affective for monkeypox .
6. Preventive measures
• 1- Avoid close skin-to-skin contact with people who have a
monkeypox-like rash.
• 2-Avoid contact with objects and materials used by a person with
monkeypox
• 3-Wash your hands frequently
• 4- Get vaccinated!
