Project Engineer
Accountable for multiple aspects of engineering projects for a company offering highway reconstruction, bridge rehabilitation,
and waste water treatment services. Manage project submittal procurement, reviewing and evaluating costs and impact on
budgets, tracking and monitoring materials, ensuring site safety, and generating layout plans and engineering design
drawings. Typically manage 4 projects at one time, with each project lasting from 1-3 years.
Review incoming submittals and prepare and submit RFI’s to Caltrans DOT; perform daily field layouts and technical
engineering surveys, and ensure accurate delivery of materials and storage to job sites.
Record daily diaries of production work, any contract change work orders, and completion of item quantities.
Generate reports and the water pollution control schedule for the Storm Water Prevention Program. Currently facilitating
weekly storm water trainings for 30 to 40 field employees; execute tailgate meetings training field personnel on-site.
Use Caltrans Lane Closure software systems to schedule and submit weekly lane closure logs.
Focus on jobsite safety; generate and submit on-the-job incident and injury reports to the risk management department
in order to support company position for potential claims. Attend weekly safety tool box meetings and Job Hazard
Analysis review sessions.
Assist construction management team with baseline and bi-weekly schedule look ahead to ensure projects are on point.
Participate in project close out report and notice of contract releases.
Maintain company’s LA Division Project Library; capture and catalog project photos.
Additionally assisted Division’s HR department with onboarding new employees for a time; issued employment
applications, verified employment eligibility, and submitted all paperwork to HR. Continually review and code daily labor
and equipment on employee time sheets.
Travel up north to Northern California when requested to oversee and monitor specific project operations, provide quality
control and quality assurance, and track overall costs.

Managed and successfully completed multiple large-scale projects with a combined value over $150M, 3-6 months ahead of
schedule. Specific project details include:
☑Caltrans District 07/Route 101 Improvement Project • 2015 - Present: Collaborate with Superintendent and Project
Manager to oversee a $55M design and development project involving 2-Way Pre-tensioned Precast Concrete Pavement, and
the installation of 30,000 LF of PJCP and 8,000 LF of IPSR. Provide quality control and daily field operations oversight for the
project, which runs over 24 miles in length.
☑Caltrans District 07/Route 405 Reconstruction Project • 2013 - 2015: Provided project oversight for the completion of the
$30M Caltrans project, successfully installing over 40,000 LF of Precast Pre-stressed Tensioned Concrete Pavement. Worked
directly with Superintendent and Project Manager and helped enforce a positive company relationship with Caltrans staff.
Received the Caltrans Partnering Success in Motion Award, Gold Recognition.
☑LAWA-CMAR Contract – Los Angeles International Airport • 2014: Assisted with back charging change order work to LAWA
for a project focused on performing structural work on LAX’s upper level bridges, resurfacing roadways on terminals, and
executing face lifts on the terminal light ribbons. Personally responsible for back charges; successfully consolidated $500K.
☑Caltrans Route 5-80 Design Build Project • 2013: Helped monitor operations and maintain quality control for a project
involving resurfacing bridge decks with polyester concrete, and replacing joint seal assemblies and approach slabs. Traveled to
and from Northern California for over 2 months to assist with project.

Estimator
Performed contract specification review, risk assessment, and quantity takeoffs (QTO’s) during preconstruction phase in order
to develop accurate bids for multi-faceted projects. Optimized unit cost pricing for construction activities and developed item
pricing bids for construction staging, materials and methods, and individual project planning.
Established and cultivated vendor and sub-contractor relationships in order to have cost-effective and timely access to
materials. Monitored addendums and advised senior officials of any changes during the estimating process.
☑ Specific project work includes Route 79/I-195 Interchange Representative Project in Fall River, MA; worked on a 7-person
team to complete bid pricing estimation for a MASSDOT construction contract valued at over $200M. Performed quantity
takeoff for existing bridge demolition, proposed superstructure erection and geotechnical substructure excavation, and
assisted with traffic control operations. Quantified bid item pricing for new drainage structures including utility removal and
protection, reviewed contract documents for scope of work and value engineering opportunities, and worked with joint-
venture senior officials for budget allocation and project scheduling.

An engineering firm specializing in land surveying and design work for residential and light-scale commercial construction

Performed site control and existing condition land surveys for residential and commercial parcels, drafted construction plans,
and collaborated with industry professionals to evaluate job sites.
As-built construction plans drafting includes foundations, subsurface sewerage disposal systems, existing conditions, final
grading, water/sewer profiles, subdivision, and road layouts.
Assisted with percolation tests involving soil classification and deep observation hole inspections, designed subsurface
sanitary sewage disposal systems, and measured large scale municipal and commercial water and sewer piping systems
invert elevations.
Monitored pump chamber testing to determine hydraulic loading rates, emergency storage capacities, and invert
elevations in accordance with municipal bylaws. Regularly followed up-to-date environmental standards and regulations
