Structure
Clearlywritten,concisemanuscriptsshouldconsistof:
2.1 Title.A concise andinformative title.Thisshouldideallyinclude one ormore of the keywordslisted
belowthe abstract.
2.2 Abstract.A concise andinformative abstractof at most200 words,summarizingthe significant
pointsof the paper.Thisshouldbe followedbyashortlistof keywordsand appropriate JEL
classificationcodes.
2.3 Main Text.Thisshouldbe arrangedinsequentiallynumberedsections.The firstsectionshouldbe
the Introduction.Where appropriate forthe content,sub-sectionsare allowedandthese shouldbe
titledandnumberedwithaseconddigit(2.1,2.2 andso on).
2.4 Summaryand/orconclusions.The papershouldendwithashortnon-technical summaryorset of
conclusions.Where appropriate thisshouldincludeanindicationof on-goingwork,orresearchthatis
requiredinthe area.Acknowledgementof assistance andfundingshouldappearhere,butonlyfor
papersthat have beenacceptedbythe journal after review.
2.5 Tables.Each table shouldbe uploadedasa separate file.Theymustbe consecutivelynumberedand
shouldhave a brief informative title.Tablesshouldbe understandable withoutreferencetothe text.
Explanatoryfootnotesshouldbe brief,placedbeneaththe table andindicatedbylowercase letters.
Whenusingpercentages,state the absolutevalue thatcorrespondsto100%. Identifyall statistical
methods.
2.6 Figures.All graphs,chartsandillustrationsof anykindmustbe submittedone toa page.Theymust
be consecutivelynumberedandshouldhave abrief informativetitle.Figuresshouldbe understandable
withoutreference tothe text.Explanatoryfootnotesshouldbe brief,placedbeneaththe table and
indicatedbylowercase letters.
2.7 References.The ChicagoAuthor-Date systemisused;referencesinthe textshouldbe citedthus:
Jones(1991) or (Jones1991); twoauthors,Jonesand Smith(1991) or (JonesandSmith1991); three or
more authors,Jonesetal (1991) or (Jonesetal,1991). Referencestopapersbythe same author(s) in
the same year are distinguishedintextandreference listbythe lettersa,betc.For full detailssee
below.
2.8 Footnotes.The use of footnotesisdiscouraged.Where footnotesare usedinthe texttheyshouldbe
numberedconsecutivelyandshouldappearatthe endof the paper.
2.9 Use of appendices.Detailedtechnicalmaterial andnon-essential tablesandfiguresshouldbe placed
inappendiceswhereverpossible.
2.10 Separate appendices.Authorsare encouragedtocontrol the lengthof submittedpapersbyputting
non-essentialtablesandgraphsanddetailedtechnical material inseparate appendices.The
introductiontothe papershouldmake itclearthat these are separate andare available onrequestfrom
