I think lunch with Dr. King would have provided a unique opportunity to learn more about his vision for an integrated society with equal rights and opportunities for all. Meeting him would have been a chance to better understand how one person can make such a profound impact through courageous leadership and commitment to justice.

I would have liked to meet Martin Luther King Jr. because he was such an inspirational leader of the civil rights movement. As the leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and organizer of many non-violent protests, he played a pivotal role in fighting for racial equality and ending legalized segregation. I think it would have been fascinating to hear him speak about his vision for a just society where people are judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. I also would have enjoyed learning more about his philosophy of non-violent civil disobedience as a means to enact social change. Agriculture also changed as cotton prices dropped, replaced by crops like peanuts, soybeans, and poultry farming. During this period, Atlanta grew tremendously under the leadership of Mayor William Hartsfield from 1937-1961, promoting racial diversity. Governor Ellis Arnall 1943-1947 brought progressive reforms including education and tax system updates. Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. 1962-1970 further desegregated the city and brought major sports franchises to Atlanta.
