1. 1) Format: one minute title sequence for movie.
2) Coming of age family drama- looking into and researching a
variety of movie genres and title sequences that accompany
them- recurring themes and conventions, use of colours,
styles.
3) Decided to go against conventional genres to avoid copying
existing sequences- horrors/comedies.
4) Juno, Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club and Napoleon Dynamite-
noticed they were quite quirky and funky looking.
1) Decided to do something that would reflect values of movie.
2) Initial thinking: centres around set of parents and their
children, exploring family life and daily battles- disputes,
dating, alcohol, school, chores, priorities, caring, love.
3) This is what I’m aiming to reflect- representation of everything
family life is about.
1) Began to think about what I associate with my own home, what
makes it the place it is.
2) When I put thought processes down began to envision idea-
close up of objects that reflect home.
3) Sequence convey loving and worn in home.
2. 1) Transitioning between shots will be basic cut edits.
2) Actual shots either still or short pans.
3) Lighting from natural sources such as sunlight and bulbs within
the house- wholesome feel. Rather than artificial and staged.
4) Song- ‘Home’ by Gabrielle Aplin.
1) Purpose it to signal start and set mood, also provides
acknowledgement to all involved in production.
2) Therefore one of most important elements.
3) Need to be visually stimulating to grab attention whilst setting
tone and reflecting theme of movie.
4) Own home- kitchen, chalk.
1) Nature of sequence and genre of movie it will be representing.
2) Demographically- working class people within band C1 to D on
the social scale.
3) This is based on research into TV shows with similar themes-
Modern family, The Middles, The Fosters- ABC figures.
4) These are the sort of people that’ll be able to relate to the
themes the sequence is conveying.
3. 1) Capturing footage with Nikon D3100/tripod.
2) Upload, sort through it, delete unwanted/useless footage and
stabilise if required- adobe after effects.
3) Editing in Adobe Premiere Pro- placing footage in desired
order, trimming down to desire length- rough edit.
4) Begin to edit properly.
