After completing this course, the student must be able to:
1. Understand the basic operation, construction and characteristics
of different electronic devices such as PN, junction diode, light
emitting diode, Zener diode, Bipolar junction Transistor, Field
Effect Transistor and Operational Amplifier as well as their
application
2. Understand the operation of a DC regulated power supply.
3. Analyze BJT and FET amplifier circuits.
4. Analyze Operational amplifier circuits.

Course Name DC AND AC MACHINERY
Course Description
The course deals with performance characteristics and operation
including losses and efficiencies of DC and AC machines such as
alternators, induction/synchronous motors, synchronous converters and
transformers. It includes demonstrations and laboratory experiments.

2. Determine the effects of DC excitation upon the power delivered by
an alternator
3. Demonstrate how to synchronize an alternator to the electric power
utility system
4. Demonstrate the basic wiring connection of different types of
Generators and alternators.
