Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) impact almost every child in the state. This presentation will discuss ACEs

This session will identify the NBCT process through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and

Come learn activity ideas from Gopher including games, activities, skill progression and their free online curriculum.

Tabata Noodle Work-out Fun
Tabata is a high intensity interval training technique that students can find fun and challenging. This class will
combine the use of noodles and other equipment to pump up the fun while completing an intense work-out. Your
students will even be able to take these exercises home for active engagement with siblings or parents.

The 3 Dimensional strategy helps coaches and teachers develop their transformation purpose. Professionals will

Their Educational Backgrounds and Opinions Regarding Coaching Certification
Randomly selected high school varsity head coaches in Arkansas were surveyed regarding their undergraduate
coaching-related courses completed and which they deemed essential in hindsight as to current coaching
responsibilities. The results will be presented.

Comprehensive School Physical Activity Plan
Creating a CSPAP helps our understanding of the practices and supports for physical education and activity as
part of the Whole Child model. The CSPAP is the “how to” of implementing the PE/PA component of the WSCC
and how it helps students reach 60 minutes of physical activity a day. The foundation of the CSPAP is physical
education. Physical education provides students with the skills and knowledge to be physically active for a lifetime.

USTA Schools Tennis & Net Generation (This is a 2 part session)
This session will consist of presenting a short demonstration of our Teachers Professional Development Training
that goes toward continuing education hours. The presenters will also present the Net Generation Curriculum
offered to all physical education teachers and coaches (K-12 grades) and explain how each school can receive up
to $1000 in equipment.

LGBTQ students experience an increased risk for violence, suicide and murder at 3-5 times that of other students.
Attendees will learn the reasons behind the statistics and steps we can take to address the challenges. Active
learning strategies will be used to promote engagement and introduce methods that increase ally support.

Beyond the Flood: MLB Hit, Pitch, and Run in Dardanelle, Arkansas
The objective of this presentation is to showcase the community involvement of the first ever MLB event in
Dardanelle, Arkansas. This event highlighted the youth and their engagement in three competitions: hitting,
pitching, and running. Arkansas Tech University HPE majors were there to facilitate and oversee the competition.
