and potential. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a customizable, student-led wellness
program that empowers youth to make healthy changes in nutrition and activity.

“Bridging the Funding Gap: Sponsorship Strategies and Practices in
Interscholastic Athletics” – Many school districts are experiencing
diminishing resources and the need for revenue streams. Corporate
sponsorship is a revenue strategy gaining significant traction. Structured
objectives, department benefits, and a knowledge-based plan are strategies to
develop or enhance a corporate sponsorship program.

“The Benefits of Exercise for Children & Young Adults with Cystic Fibrosis” –
This presentation will explain why exercise is vital for children and young
adults with Cystic Fibrosis. Speakers include a graduate student with CF.
Her presentation will include her daily therapy of CF and how leading an active
lifestyle has enhanced her ability to battle this life-threatening disability.

session students, P-12 teachers, and professors will help brainstorm the
multitude of ways for using technology to increase instructional effectiveness.
Too often technology is forced into the pedagogy arena leading to
unproductive and inefficient teaching. We will talk about new technologies
and efficient teaching.

“Take Walking and Running to the Billionth Level: The New Balance Foundation
Billion Mile Race” – Walk/run programs are catching fire at schools nationwide,
and the New Balance Foundation Billion Mile Race is tasking them with the goal
to walk, job, and run one billion miles. Led by the Billion Mile Race team, this
session will share insights from their work with thousands of schools.

“Background Screening of Volunteer School Sport Coaches: A Legal Review” –
Due to the proliferation and frequency of predatory cases involving school
coaches, there is an increased awareness of the protection of students from
sexual abuse. Schools have a duty to conduct proper background screening of
volunteer sport and extracurricular coaches. Case law and related legalities to
the process of screening/selection within public agencies will be discussed.
