A few school projects for Costa Rican schools with the support of the White Oak, Turtle Creek & San Jose Rotary Clubs. Also, thanks to Kmart closing, a small project to supply backpacks to almost 200 school children.

Costa rica school projects supported by the Rotary Clubs
1. Costa Rica school projects
supported by the Rotary
Pittsburgh based Rotary Clubs
White Oak & Turtle Creek &
San Jose ,Costa Rica Club
2. New sound system for Escuela Villa Nueva, San Isidro
de El General, canton of Perez Zeldon, Costa Rica
A 2018 project supported by both White Oak & Turtle Creek Rotary Clubs, providing a
sound system not just to help have school events, but they will rent out this system
to other schools, rent it for the local community events and for fundraising functions.
All the funds raised will go to further support the students and facility needs.
3. Students of Villa Nueva
Using the new sound system for the first time to learn about the
presidential election.
4. Past project supported by White Oak & San Jose Rotary
This project , a new gymnasium for Escuela San Luis, near San Isidro de El
General , canton of Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica, was an effort between White
Oak Rotary & the San Jose, Costa Rica Rotary Club. An amazing job as it has
seating, stage and restroom and it permits the students to play inside during
the rainy season or in the hot sun and the students stay clean vs when they
would play in a local dirt field.
5. Backpacks for another school where a friend is a
teacher. I purchased these backpacks from a local
Kmart that was going through liquidation.
Costa Rica. Also, all of the students at the school with the new sound
system, Villa Nueva, 135, received backpacks and thanks to a cool, super
nice , Southwest Airline flight attendant who gave me enough pretzels for
all of the students, each backpack had a pretzel snack!
