The document discusses virtual learning environments and their role in education. It proposes that learning in virtual environments is a process of knowledge construction and teaching is a process of assisting that construction. The key ideas are that (1) learning is knowledge construction, (2) teaching assists that construction, and (3) teacher-student joint activity is the basic unit of analysis. It also examines how virtual learning environments can be designed to enhance student learning through online materials and tools that facilitate communication, collaboration, and assessment.

2. Virtual Learning Enviroment
The paper proposes a theoretical approach to the learning and teaching processes
in virtual environments based on the principles of socio-cultural constructivism.
Three key ideas are discussed: learning in virtual environments as a process of
knowledge construction, teaching in virtual environments as a process of
continuous and sensible assistance to knowledge construction, and teacher-
students joint activity as the basic unit of analysis of learning and teaching
processes in virtual environments. Implications of these ideas for the design and
evaluation of virtual learning environments and learning objects are considered and
examined.
Teaching in virtual environments as process for help
To improve a virtual learning environment is very important to know how can we
use it or establish our purposes to take advantage of it. Of course the main
purpose is upgrading the knowledge, so as a teacher you must to have the
capability to designed and produce on-line learning materials which can enhance
student learning and you need to know what resources are available of that.
You can use tools to create online learning materials, online assessment and
marking, communication tools, (course information, email, digital drop boxes)
collaboration tools, discussion boards, file exchange, links to other online
resources, integration with management information systems and another multiple
tools .
Before deciding on the type of activities it is essential to consider the overall aims
and objectives of the course, Structuring information and planning out the activity
before you start working will save you a lot of time.
Web based education is often associated to distance education, while in the
practice it is also widely used to support presential learning. In both ways it is vital
to the success that the instructions provide students with the necessary information
to work independently online, so, it is important encourage close contact with the
students.
The constructive mental activity developed by the student does not ensure the
construction of meanings and senses through out the new content of learning. On
one hand, because the student can’t make use of the cognitive resources to
assimilate the new content; on the other hand because, even if he’s got them, he
can’t enable them, or he can’t establish the possible relation ship between those
3. resources and the content. Interaction between student and content doesn’t
guarantee by itself the ways of construction of meanings and senses.
Virtual Learning Enviroment is a software system designed to make virtual courses
easier for teachers to teach their students, it’s specially useful to develop and
administrate such course. This system can be controlled by teachers and students.
These systems were originally designed for long distance teaching, but they’re now
being used for presential courses.
The system works on the computer so the students can access to it through
internet. Their main compounds are: worksheets, forums, chat, questionnaires and
multiple-answer exercises, true or false.
Now, I’ll explain what steps are followed by teachers in order to use this system in
a normal class.
1.- The worksheets are filled by professors
2.- They’re published on Internet so the students can work on them too. Blogs and
RSS are also included in these systems.
3.- The services provided include access control, educative content,
communication tools and student groups administration.
4.- These virtual environments are based on the collective learning principle where
students are allowed to express their own ideas at the forums and they can also
support the media tools that make learning more entertaining.
Certainly this kind of work allows the students to get closer to technological stuff,
we are surrounded by technology, Internet, and to caught the interest in school or
extra curricular activities the use of this tools is very remarkable.
A lot of young people seems like they are changing their way of live to a virtual
world because in there, they can share with friends music, photos, activities, and to
be sincere if i could made the school form home will be great.
This give us an idea of the importance of virtual classrooms, that give us a lot of
facilities to made home works, to get in contact with our classmates and teachers
even if they are far away, we always have the Internet connection to express your
concerns or ideas online.
But also have some bad stuff but they really depend on ours because it is so easy
to get distracted in other stuff like being surfing the web, or using the chat, but that
depends on you and in your interest.
4. Also there are studies that show us that virtual classrooms can participate more in
class,
and have even more interaction that in a real classroom and that results into a
better acquisition of knowledge.
This is especially useful not only to use it exclusively as online classes and
monitoring platform for students, but also when combined with multimedia courses,
as with all these elements would have an online training system (although it would
be totally Comatible with classroom training, using such techniques as support)
completed that will allow us to offer the best service to our students Learning.
