The team attended the SIAL of Toronto and observed some trends. They saw similar levels of French and Italian producers compared to previous years, while Polish producers had much less presence. They discovered some new products and made genuine contacts, including donuts selected as Innovation of the Year and gourmet yogurts and mustards. Several women entrepreneurs impressed them with their passion and expertise. The document also highlights new product launches and brands that caught their attention.
2. FAITHFUL FROM YEAR TO YEAR
Our team of professionals attended the SIAL of Toronto.
We were expecting to see more European companies this
year with the recent signature of the Canada-Euro
Agreement, however it was not the case.
Based on our count, French and Italian producers were at
the same levels, while Poland who had a noticeable
presence in 2015 were almost not this year, as the US who
was less represented in comparison.
Nonetheless, our team made some great discoveries and
forged some genuine contacts.
Happy viewing!
6. OUR SHOW FAVORITE
Our favorite booth of SIAL 2017:
Gosh ! Naturally Free-From
Overall presentation, friendly and
dynamic team, great explanations of
ingredients and textures, generous and
multiple sampling portions for tasting,
excellent taste, Point-Of-Sale material,
etc.
All in all… 10/10 !

13. As professionals in food marketing, we must be in
touch with the reality and new trends in the market,
both upstream and downstream.
During this show, we met exhibitors but also store
managers, raw material producers, distributors and
other suppliers coming to visit.
With all the information we gathered, we noticed the
evolution of certain exhibitors from year to year, with
some improving and others standing still. One thing is
certain, these shows are there for networking,
establishing contacts for direct and indirect needs.
