defense industries. Adept at circuit simulations, design and optimization of various subsystems used in
communications equipment. Proven medical devices verification and validation test plan experience.
Working knowledge of system requirement tools (DOORS). Developed transmitter circuitry to test
public safety radios at VHF (136 – 174 MHz), UHF (400 – 527 MHz) and 800 – 900 MHz.
Reduced development time and improved radio performance by automating testing of critical RF
circuitry. Experienced with Keysight ADS, Momentum, Cadence, MATLAB, Zuken E3 and LabVIEW.
• LabView, Keysight ADS, Keysight Momentum, DOORS, Cadence, HP ALM, SAP and soldering
• Have Current Department of Defense SECRET Security Clearance
• Have translated subsystem specifications into digital hardware design requirements.
• Have proactively determined creative solutions to complex technical design problems.
• Have worked on teams, communicated effectively and provided technical guidance to design
engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management and supply chain.
• Have Six Sigma yellow belt certification, used design of experiments (DOE), DFM and FMEA.
• Have been trained in: Receiver Exciter Architecture course, ADS RF course (mixers, IP3, PCB
layout), Cadence, AutoCAD, DOORS, HP ALM, ClearCase, ClearQuest and Zuken E3.
• Skilled in hands-on circuit design, modeling, debugging, soldering, manufacturing, good written
communication skills, RF testing, requires minimal supervision, Microsoft Office, Excel.

used to power up a 3.3V USB video camera with 300 mA current draw.
MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS Aug 2007 – Dec 2013
Senior Electronics Engineer
• Power Control: electronics engineering, optimized current sense topology, which controls the
bias voltage on RF power FETs (to 20 W) in the UHF band.
• Simulated performance of the power control loop with ADS modeling. Results were used to
improve FET drain current tracking over many transmitter input power levels.
• Developed LabVIEW automations and applications for testing an embedded IC chipset and
firmware to accommodate variations in voltage, temperature and VSWR.
• Supported research and development of a power control detection design utilizing one forward
coupler and three power sense probes by using engineering principles.
• Power Amplifier Designer: optimized transmitter architecture for low power (10 mW to 10 W)
and high power (to 50 W) gain stages in the UHF band (400 – 470 MHz).
• Synthesized impedance matching networks from large signal impedance data and ADS
simulations to achieve desired power output, efficiency and linearity.
• Prototype transistor fixtures to assist with impedance matching and troubleshooting.
• Thermal scanned each RF power stage and entire radio using FLIR S40 and T400.
• Harmonic Filters: optimized antenna switch and harmonic filter circuitry of public safety mobile
radios (806 – 941 MHz). Implemented Zolotarev filter topology, resulting in minimized flyback at
frequencies in excess of 13 GHz.
• Developed LabView software to automate testing of Tx parameters (Intermodulation Distortion,
Modulation limiting, conducted harmonics, etc.) for FCC and ETSI compliance.
