IV. PROCEDURE
A. Reviewing previous lesson 1. What are Context Clues?
-Context clues are important words or phrases in a sentence that helps in identifying the meaning of difficult word or items in a sentence.
-They provide further information about a word or phrase that helps the reader understand its meaning.
B. Establishing a purpose for the
lesson
 Good readers use context clues to help them understand the meaning of an unfamiliar and challenging word. For example, a reader might use the
meaning of other words in a sentence or a picture on the page to help them learn the meaning of the unknown word.
 So often, students are told to figure out what a word means based on its word parts or on surrounding context clues, but if they don't have the
understanding of what a context clue is, that is a difficult task.
C. Presenting examples/
instances of the new
lesson
 The students will give their sentence according to this picture, using context clues.
 Their sentence may be, “It was an idyllic day; sunny, warm, and perfect for a walk in the park.”
 Then the teacher will discuss the structures and the composition of the sentence with regards to context clues and its types.

4. E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did this work?
I think, the best strategy I made that worked well, was giving/stating many examples of the first three types of context clues, which resulted to too much time
consumed but relayed and discussed well to the students for them to clearly understand the topic.
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisorcan
help me solve?
It was observable that some of the Grade 8-Purity & Humility learners remained silent in the entire period of the class. Some of them were too shy to express
themselves and some of them were not that good in reading as to speaking.
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover
which I wish to share with other
teachers?
In giving examples of the first three types of context clues, I preferred to use them; the learners as the doers of the actions in such sentences. I even included
