In his position as a Deep Foundation Specialist, Mr. Clark is responsible for the field inspection, testing,
and quality control of earthwork, asphalt, and concrete construction. His assignments have included site
soil evaluation and preparation for fill placement and foundation construction. He has observed proof
rolling of subgrade soils, soil treatment using lime and lime/fly ash mixtures and has provided in-situ
density testing of soils to verify proper moisture and compaction. He is familiar with procedures to
determine the percent solids for lime slurry stabilization, to check lime stabilization depth, and soil
sampling for plasticity (PI) and Proctor moisture-density testing. Mr. Clark has also inspected drilled pier
and shallow spread footings, performed field-testing of concrete for engineering properties, batch plant
inspection and sampling, and lightweight concrete inspection. He has observed and documented the
testing and placement of mortar and lightweight roofing materials. Mr. Clark recently completed the 12
hours course Field Fundamentals for “Unbounded Post-Tensioning”.
Mr. Clark’s deep foundation experience includes driven precast-pre-stressed (PCPS) concrete piles,
drilled piers and augured cast-in-place (ACIP) piles. He is certified to inspect Pre-cast concrete pile plant
operations. He is also familiar with the Deep Foundations Institute inspector’s guides for both driven
and ACIP piles. Mr. Clark has been trained to operate the Cross-hole Analyzer (CHA) and has performed
both single-hole and cross-hole sonic integrity logging of drilled piers and ACIP piles. He has also
assisted in the preparation of PCPS concrete piles for dynamic testing using the Pile Driving Analyzer
