Project
Improvement of Mafraq to Al Ghwaifat BorderPostHighway
SectionNo. 3B: Al Mirfa to Abu Al Abyad
Evaluated soil appropriateness for constructions activities in AL Mirfa, Abu Al Abyad
and Tariff districts.
Upgraded two lines of the existing pavement surface to provide 30 year design life.
Constructed two new lines to be four lines in both side.
Construction of three Dumbbell Interchanges ((bridges)).
Relocated / Protected of existing services.
Extension of existing contingency ducts and construction of new contingency ducts
Constructed of Road Furniture.
The project is to improvement of Al Mirfa to Abu Al Abyad road total length
100km to be four lines and shoulders both sides each line 3.75m and shoulder
3m.in addition of extension of existing ducts and constructed of future ducts and
culvert crossing the road. On the other side there were three bridges in three
locations Al Mirfa, Al Mughairah andTariff.
The construction of road as follow

IRAQ crude oil export pipeline
4. IRAQ crude oil export pipeline (IOEP) route starts from junction point pigging Station
and ends at Fao Terminal Station. The total length of the pipeline route is approximately
272 km.
Investigation purpose of Canal Crossing Site is to investigate proposed site, assess the
geological engineering condition of proposed site and provide geological engineering
data and basis to basic design.
Collect the data of investigation area.
Investigate the landform, geological structure, to find distribution, feature and physical,
mechanical properties of Rock & Soil.
To assess the corrosiveness of soil and water at crossing site to provide geotechnical
engineering constructive measures and recommendation.
UAE University
Conducted special core analysis petro physicist and calculated the original oil in places.
Provided prediction of primary production and evaluation the Enhanced Oil Recovery.
Determined most of all petroleum reservoir rock properties such as Porosity,
Permeability, Grain Density, Electrical properties, Resistivity Index, Formation Factor,
Saturation Exponent, Fluid Saturation in reservoir(Swi,Swo),Capillary
Pressure, Wet ability and can convert Lab data into Reservoir conditions; using
interfacial tension forces and fluid contact angle data method.
Provide guidance and assistance in both theory and hands-on laboratory techniques.
