I am analyzing Football
factory which is a drama film

This trailer is not a teaser I know this as it is one minutes and 37seconds long.
It also consists of allot of footage from the film, and stereotypically teasers
will not have allot of footage from the film and will not give away allot of the
plot. The trailer starts with the studio name which is Vertigo films. The reason
for this is so that the audience know who produced and made the film and
could draw in fans from that studios work.
The first few shots we see of the film is off clips of the football hooligans and
reviews of the film from other influential forms of media. The films genre is
drama we know this because it shows a problem with football and violence.
Conventions of a drama is
The film is set in London between two football teams, the film is based on the
violence between rival teams. Dramas will normally touch on problems such as
poverty or crime or issues such as health sexuality and other subjects. The
difference with urban drama is that urban drama is set in an urban environment
and faces problems with crime and gangs. Football factory is an urban drama as
it focuses on one persons story while he is involved in a football gang.
The trailer reveals that the protagonist is involved in a football gang and that
the film follows his story throughout the film, allot of character in the film are
shown on screen the trailer does not hide much from the audience.
The trailer is shown in a linear sequence not much of the plot of the film is
shown just that the protagonist is in a gang that fights other football firms.
The enigma of the film leaves the audience wanting to know what happens
in the fights with other firms and what the protagonists fait is.
There are allot of fast cuts that show the pace of the film is fast and draw in
the audience, this is common in trailers and is used to make the audience
pay close attention to the trailer and build their interest in the film.
At the beginning of the trailer there is a narration from the protagonist,
this sets the scene and tells the audience that the film is violent and
for an older audience as there is profanity and references in the
narration. The narration draws audiences in as they want to know
what is being said, because of the profanity it backs up that the film is
for an older audience. There is music in the background that sounds
fast paced and heavy which shows that the film is very serious and
face paced. The music along with the narration makes the
atmosphere of the film very serious and aggressive which may draw
audiences in.
The target audience for the film are young adults that live in the UK, audiences
that do not live in the UK would also enjoy the film. The target audience living in
the UK is because the firms seen in the film are English teams therefore people
can relate more, also as crime associated with football has been a big problem in
the UK therefore audiences can also relate to this. The dialogue in the film also
uses cockney rhyme and slang which is slang originating from east London. All of
these things make the film more appealing to a UK audience. The audience are
most probably young adults as younger audiences stereotypically watch more
violent films, the film does feature allot of violence which does not appeal to
allot of audiences. The gender the film is targeted at is stereotypically men as
women are not featured in the film as much as men are, also stereotypically
football is seen as a male dominated sport therefore the film was most probably
target at the male gender.
In conclusion the trailer does give away parts of the plot along with allot of
characters in the film, however the trailer is not a teaser therefore would
generally give more plot away to the audience. The trailer is faced paced and
shows allot to keep the audience interested and concentrated. The target
audience for the film is young male adults that live in the UK and have a
knowledge and or interest of football or football firms.

The gender the film is targeted at is stereotypically men as women are not featured in the film as much as men are, also stereotypically football is seen as a male dominated sport therefore the film was most probably target at the male gender.

In conclusion the trailer does give away parts of the plot along with allot of characters in the film, however the trailer is not a teaser therefore would generally give more plot away to the audience. The trailer is faced paced and shows allot to keep the audience interested and concentrated. The target audience for the film is young male adults that live in the UK and have a knowledge and or interest of football or football firms.
