1. Review for commercial Radio show
The show suited the audience it was aimed at because of the music featured and the conversations
we had such as concerts, festivals and rumours/ facts about relevant bands.
Overall I think our use of all the equipment was at a good level throughout except for at the
beginning there was a few split seconds of dead air as we were getting used to the equipment it
sound ok in the radio studio but when I listened to it afterwards there was a 2 tiny bits of dead airs
and 1 problem with speaking whilst loud music was on so voice wasn’t heard.
The speech content throughout the show in my opinion was professional and sounded natural and
calm, it was relevant to the genre and the music we were playing and we talk for a good length of
time but not too long that it became boring, there was a few bits that could be interpreted as funny
if it suited your sense of humour. Fans of the bands that were listening would of enjoyed it because
it was suitable for them and they could learn things from some of the things we said they could also
reminisce because there was chat of old concerts.
I thought our chat was particularly good because it contained banter and wasn’t just introducing the
next song it was talking about the songs and talking about concerts/ rumours/ facts and having a
laugh with the things we said.
I think the things we could improve are transitions between songs and get rid of the dead air that
made an appearance.
In conclusion I think our show was a good indie based show and would be enjoyed by the audience,
there was good banter in the show and could be considered funny, there was good speech content
such as facts/opinions/rumours and concert news that is relevant to the audience and would be
enjoyed by the audience. It could have been improved by cutting the dead air completely out and
improving transitions to perfection but our use of equipment overall was good. The fact we used
personalised jingle was used I think gave it a more personal touch and it would have been enjoyed
by the audience because it had relevant music to the audience.
