1. Radio show review
I think that the show does suit the target audience because the songs that were played are
relaxed and chilled out songs. Easy listening music suits M&S because people would most
likely want to be relaxed when shopping and not quick and load beating music. Also M&S is
a store that mainly has people of the older age shopping in so soundtracks from the early
ages is best to be used for the older generation.
The technical quality of the show was good but could be improved to make it sound better.
E.g. when we are talking it would be good to have like a soothing sound in the background
to make it sound a bit more real, Also fading the music out towards the end can be more on
time with our chats. The jingles where easy to understand but in my opinion they sounded a
bit bland and miserable.
I thought the chats worked well during the show like we talked about upcoming events
which can relate to the M&S store. We talked about mother’s day and how flowers and
chocolates are on sale which would benefit the store. In the show we talked as if we were
bored or like tired so it would have sounded better if we put more energy and emphasised
our speech and communication and make our self’s sound like we’re enjoying talking on the
show.
I thought our confidence of bringing up random topics on subjects was good because it was
quick and relatable. Also the use and range of music worked well because the duration of
each track where around the same time and each piece of music was spread out evenly to
take up the right amount of time. I also like the outro message because it was short and
sweet and feels like it would actually brighten up the listener’s day after listening to the
show.
For the next show I will be more energetic and alive when speaking on the show, also I will
try and put more input into the show because on this show I don’t talk much and I could
imagine the listeners not realising I am a part of the show. I also think fading the music out
more on time will make the show sound neater and professional.
