Baroque is an artistic movement from the late 16th to early 18th centuries characterized by simple exteriors but luxurious and vibrant interiors. The altarpiece in Saint Teresa Church, made between 1660-1670, depicts Saint Teresa ascending to heaven surrounded by music-playing angels and other saints, and uses gold to convey luxury. "Els Dolors" is a 1750 penitential procession where participants dress as Romans or in black tunics with covered faces and pointed hats. The Hall of Vic, built in 1388 and remodeled in 1670, has a baroque-style consistory room.

2. What is Baroque?
Baroque is an artistic movement that begins in the end of XVI century and the start
of XVIII century.
The outside of the buildings doesn’t show us the luxury but the simple forms. The
luxury and the vitality are found in the inside.

3. Saint Teresa Church
The altarpice of this church was made by Josep Morató Pujol between 1660-70. He wanted
to show us the luxury that there was before making it with some gold.
In the altarpice there is a paint representing Saint Teresa going up to the heaven with some
music angels. Also we can see some representing saints like Saint Pere and Saint Pau in the
under of the altarpice.

5. “Els Dolors”
Is a traditional penitential procession called procession of armed. It started in 1750. There
are a group of persons who are dressed in Romans and the other group is dressed with a
black tunics, the face covered and a pointed hat.

7. The Hall
The Hall of Vic is an important building where our mayor and her successors talk about Vic.
This building was built in 1388 and remodeled in 1670. The room of Consistory is the only
room that has a baroque style.
