Channel 4’s, four main requirements of a TV documentary advertisements are:
1. A symbolic main image
2. The channel 4 Logo
3. The documentary name
4. When the documentary is going to be show
As the documentary
title is, “Britain’s
forgotten children”, it
would obviously be
about a dark subject
and so, the main
picture and what is
going on within it show
this. As well as this, the
photo has been edited
by being unsaturated
and has had a vignette
added to it to portray
this dark subject.
On the right of the page
it shows us the
production company’s
logo, Channel 4.
There is not a lot of text used on this advert; the only text shown is the documentary name
and when the documentary will be aired. They have used a coloured block behind the text
to make the text prominent and readable in order to make sure the audience is able to
read it, even with a quick glace. There is also a website link on the bottom right of the
advert, it is subtle but seeable.
