ease of doing business, according to the latest
World Bank annual ratings.
Total Size of Economy
Japan is the third largest economy in the world.
Its GDP crossed the $5 trillion mark in 2019.

The Gross Domestic Product per capita in Japan was
last recorded at 34366.48 US dollars in 2020. The
GDP per Capita in Japan is equivalent to 272 percent
of the world's average.

It firmly established a democracy in form of a
constitutional monarchy, which, similar to the U.K.,
maintained its long-standing imperial family as the
honorary figurehead of the country.

6. Political System
The emperor, rather than being the embodiment of all
sovereign authority (as he was previously), is the
symbol of the state and of the unity of the people,
while sovereign power rests with the people (whose
fundamental human rights are explicitly guaranteed).

Legislative powers are vested in the Diet, which is
popularly elected and consists of two houses. The
House of Representatives (Shūgiin), or lower house,
ultimately takes precedence over the House of
Councillors (Sangiin), or upper house, in matters of
passing legislation, controlling the budget, and
approving treaties with foreign powers.

summer.
● Of the northern island of Hokkaido and the Sea of

● In Okinawa, on the other hand, the mean temperature
of January is a warm 17 degrees Celsius.

Studio Ghibli, acclaimed Japanese animation
film studio that was founded in 1985 by
animators and directors Miyazaki Hayao and
Takahata Isao.
Studio Ghibli is known for the high quality of
its filmmaking and its artistry.
Studio Ghibli produced movies such as:
Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away
and Grave of the Fireflies.
