1.
2. Comparison of the opening to Se7en to
The Neighbour (an A-level horror film) –
15/9/14
Today I compared two film openings of the same genre, in order to
see the similarities and comparisons between an established film
opening and an a-level production film opening.
From doing this task, I took on-board how different titles are
presented within different levels of film openings.
3. Still-image – Action Adventure
- 16/9/14
In today’s lesson my group were given the task to take still image
pictures which showed action adventure connotations.
In order to fulfil this we used props such as a fence and a picnic
table to show our protagonist who was a female in our case as we
wanted to go against the typical stereotypes within action-
adventures movies.
By doing this task I am now more aware of the connotations
surrounding action-adventure. This may come in handy if I decide
to change from a thriller opening to an action adventure.
4. Camera Shots – 18/9/14
Today I looked at six different camera angle shots. I furthered my
work today by researching why/how they are used in film openings
in order to create a successful opening.
From my findings I found that a wide range of shots within the first
two minutes of the film are used in order to create the enigma of the
main character and to also keep the audience interested.
This task was successful as looking at these different camera
shots, I am now more familiar with them, therefore I can now have a
wider range within my film opening.
