WRITING EXPERIENCE
2002 to Present Freelance Writer
Professional writing projects include press releases plus their distribution, brochures, newsletters, Web content, feature stories,
product descriptions, social media management, business proposals and marketing and business plans. I also orchestrated,
publicized and managed successful grand openings/special events for clients. Quick turnaround on projects has spoiled my clients.
My attention to research and meeting deadlines early is what has kept my clients returning for years.
1994 to 2002 Reporter & Publication Coordinator for Leader Publications
This newspaper valued my detailed coordination and timely writing of two weekly feature stories, plus other news and human-
interest stories, appearing in two weekly newspapers. Realtors regarded my feature house story as an indispensable selling tool
for their featured homes. I took all photographs to accompany my stories.
In 1999, I launched and coordinated the Leader’s Grand Times, a monthly senior magazine. I wrote feature stories, coordinated
contributors, conducted photo selections, graphic design approval and editing. In 2000, Grand Times won for Best Stand-Alone
Publication presented by the Missouri Press Association.

I organized all fundraisers, speaking engagements and promotional materials. I produced press releases and radio, print and cable
TV ad copy. I supervised more than 300 volunteers for each campaign and managed all financial records. Both the candidate and
the ballot issue won by an overwhelming majority.
