Zenith Computers and Heathkit Co., St. Joseph, Michigan (1980-1992)
Planned and directed the communications, public relations and consumer
advertising campaigns for a national chain of computer stores in 70 major
U.S. and Canadian cities. Managed direct marketing and national
advertising for the Heathkit Co. an international electronics direct mail
catalog company. Generated 1.3 million catalogue inquiries annually and
helped increase sales 60 percent in five years. Rebranded consumer
electronics Heathkit store chain to national Zenith Computer chain.
2. Increased sales by 100 percent. Helped increase sales for the Heath
Education Division by 200 percent in three years. Managed staff of five.
Public Information Officer and Recruiter
Niagara College, Welland, Ontario (1974-1979)
Managed the Niagara College News and Information Office. Prepared all
external publications for the college including course catalogs, advertising,
news releases, direct mail and brochures. Produced radio and cable TV
news programs on the school, audiovisual presentations and speeches.
Developed and implemented student recruiting programs that increased
enrollment by 40 percent in six years. Assisted the Niagara College
Placement Office in creating programs to assist graduates in job search
techniques. Also wrote grant applications.
