Module 1 - SLP
ORGANIZATION/FACILITY DEVELOPMENT
The intent of the SLP is for you to transform the theoretical and
general aspects
as covered and based in each module’s case paper, to a “Board-
meeting”
presentation. The SLP (like the Cases) is a cumulative project
that will
11. demonstrate the culmination of your understanding and your
ability to identify the
key points of your case work and transform them into relevant
slides utilizing
Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) software.
In addition to covering the points of your Case Assignment,
your PPT should be
narrated. Each slide, with the exception of your reference
slide(s) should contain
a recorded narration as if you were presenting the PPT live in a
board meeting.
Additional information on how to record a slide show with
narration can be found
at the following source:

**Note**: Do not submit the subsequent section (Module 2)
until you have
received feedback from your instructor on this section (Module
1).
SLP Assignment Expectations
1. Conduct additional research to gather sufficient information
to justify/support
your analysis.
2. The PPT should be at least 10 slides, not including the title
and reference
pages.
3. Do not simply read your slides. Your presentation should be
12. an
extemporaneous discussion of your material, with your slides
simply providing
highlights.
4. Support your paper with peer-reviewed articles with at least 5
references. Use
the following link for additional information on how to
recognize peer-reviewed
journals:

COMMON MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND HOW TO
ADDRESS THEM
A high number of people suffering from mental health
complications. This can be attributed to among many other
factors changes in society that puts pressure on young adults
24. and kids to try and conform to the societal expectations
(Acosta-Prado et al., 2020).
In order to ensure that the center is able to provide holistic
healthcare services to the residents of Arlington, the facility
will have an in-house psychologist and psychiatrist.
The two aforementioned proffesionals will offer much needed
mental healthcare services to the residents of the area at the
most affordable cost making it possible for the facility to run on
the limited funds that will be collected from patients.
Arlington just like many other cities in the country is

9
DYNAMICS OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL FACILITY
One particular target group will be the war veterans. Arlington
is unique on account of the high number of war veterans
residing in the city.
This category is particularly vulnerable when it comes to their
propensity towards mental health issues on account of the
experiences they might have had during their tour of duty.
Most of them will present with issues such as Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder, Anxiety and Depression (Acosta-Prado et al.,
2020). For this reason, Warren’s Wellness Centre will offer
much needed mental health services to this particular group of
individuals..
26. The facility will mainly seek to address the mental health needs
of all residents of Arlington. However, there are several target
groups that the facility will narrow down to. One particular
target group will be the war veterans. Arlington is unique on
account of the high number of war veterans residing in the city.

to this particular group of individuals thus ensuring that they
are able to lead fairly normal lives notwithstanding the
experiences that they may have had.
10
RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSION
Warren’s Health and Wellness Centre seeks to implement a non-
profit business model.
The non-profit business model that the organization has adopted
implies that it is capable of providing these services
notwithstanding its overall profitability position.
However, the organization should ensure that it is able to keep
providing these services well into the foreseeable future through
proper market positioning and targeting.
Based on the analysis of Warren’s Healthcare, it is evident that
the healthcare facility is providing a much needed service to the
residents of Texas. The non-profit business model that the
organization has adopted implies that it is capable of providing
27. these services notwithstanding its overall profitability position.
However, the organization should ensure that it is able to keep
providing these services well into the foreseeable future through
proper market positioning and targeting. Such an initiative will
enable Warren’s Health and Wellness Centre attract a huge
number of paying customers thus making it possible for the
organization to continue its operations notwithstanding its
profitability status.

(Verulava, Jorbenadze & Dangadze, 2018). Thus, Warren’s
Wellness Center seeks to address this shortcoming and ensure
that the residents of Arlington, Texas, have access to the much-
needed healthcare services.
Arlington City Socio-economic Demographics
Unlike many organizations in the healthcare industry, Warren’s
Health and Wellness Centre will be run as a non-profit
organization. Therefore, the main idea is to ensure that the
29. center provides much-needed healthcare services to residents
without necessarily focusing too much on the profitability side.
However, no healthcare organization can run without financial
resources. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the
organization is located strategically to ensure that it has access
to paying clients.
Arlington, Texas, is regarded to be a strategic location for
various reasons. First and foremost, the area
contains several active military bases
. The intense level of military activity implies that Warren’s
Wellness Centre will have access to both civilian and military-
based clients
. The target population of Warren’s Wellness Centre will
therefore be both members of the military service and members
of the Arlington community
.
A look at the demographics of the Arlington population reveals
a diverse society. First and foremost, The city's total population
is 400, 316 (World Population Review, 2021). The population of
Arlington is substantial by any measure since the city is the
seventh-largest city in Texas and the 49th largest city in the
country
. The general population of Arlington is substantial enough to
make it an ideal destination for a non-profit healthcare facility
such as Warren’s Wellness Centre (World Population Review,
2021
).
A breakdown of the overall demographics of the Arlington area
reveals that the population of Arlington is highly diverse and
integrated in terms of its racial composition. Most of the
residents of Arlington are White, representing 52.9 percent of
the total population (World Population Review, 2021). The
second most populous race is the African Americans
30. representing 22.75 percent of the total population
. The area is also home to a significant number of Asians at 6.97
percent of the total population (World Population Review,
2021). Minority groups, including Native Hawaiian and Native
Americans represent less than one percent of the total
population at Arlington. A summary of the racial composition of
Arlington is as indicated below:
· White: 59.92%
· Black or African American: 22.75%
· Other race: 6.97%
· Asian: 6.55%
· Two or more races: 3.15%
· Native American: 0.46%
· Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.20% (United States
Census Bureau, 2021).
Income levels are an important demographic characteristic that
indicates the overall purchasing power of a given society. The
average income in Arlington is 79,268 dollars (World
Population Review, 2021). The average income is substantial,
revealing that the residents of Arlington have a high purchasing
power and are quite capable of paying for the services offered at
Warren’s Health and Wellness Centre
.
An analysis of the median age at Arlington reveals that the
median age is around 33 years (United States Census Bureau,
2021). This implies that the population is young and that thus a
significant number of residents might be dealing with various
31. challenges that life typically presents at such a young age, such
as relationship challenges, starting up a family, financial and
career advancement challenges, among others
.
Common Medical Conditions at Arlington
Like many other cities in the country, Arlington is experiencing
an increase in various types of medical conditions. First and
foremost, There is an increasing number of people are suffering
from mental health complications (Acosta-Prado et al., 2020).
This can be attributed to societal changes, among many other
factors that pressure young adults and kids to try and conform
to societal expectations (Acosta-Prado et al., 2020
).
How to address the aforementioned medical conditions?
Warren’s Health and Wellness Centre will have to equip itself
with adequate resources so as to address the challenges that the
residents of the area are facing. To ensure that the center is able
to provide holistic healthcare services to the residents of
Arlington, the facility will have an in-house psychologist and
psychiatrist. The two professionals will offer mental healthcare
services to the residents of the area at the most affordable cost
making it possible for the facility to run on the limited funds
that will be collected from patients.
Surrounding Cities and Towns
There are several cities and towns around Arlington
. Such a metropolis also presents an opportunity for the
Wellness Centre since some of the patients visiting the facility
will come from these places
. Some of the most notable cities and towns around the area
include Kennedale, Mansfield, Bedford, Cedar Hill, Grand
Prairie, Haltom City, among others
32. .
Organizational Dynamic Structure
Dynamics of the Organization Facility
The facility will mainly seek to address the mental health needs
of all residents of Arlington
. However, there are several target groups that the facility will
focuson. One target group will be the war veterans. Arlington is
unique on account of the high number of war veterans residing
in the city (Acosta-Prado et al., 2020). This population
is particularly vulnerable when it comes to their propensity
towards mental health issues on account of the experiences,
they
might have had during their tour of duty
. Many will present with issues such as Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression
. For this reason, Warren’s Wellness Centre will offer much-
needed mental health services
to this group of individuals, thus ensuring that they are able to
lead normal lives notwithstanding the experiences that they may
have had (Acosta-Prado et al., 2020).
Finally, a high number of people in Arlington suffer from
various forms of lifestyle diseases
. Diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity are
quite prevalent in the area
. In addition to the physical toll on the body that such diseases
present, there is also the mental toll since many people
suffering from such ailments also end up developing various
mental health complications such as anxiety and depression
(Acosta-Prado et al., 2020). For this reason, Warren’s Health
and Wellness Centre will play a significant role in improving
33. the mental health condition of such individuals (Acosta-Prado et
al., 2020).
Recommendations and Conclusion
Based on the analysis of Warren’s Healthcare, it is evident that
the healthcare facility is providing a much-needed service to the
residents of Texas. The non-profit business model that the
organization has adopted implies that it can provide these
services, notwithstanding its overall profitability position.
However, the organization should ensure that it can provide
these services well into the foreseeable future through proper
market positioning and targeting. Such an initiative will enable
Warren’s Health and Wellness Centre to attract many paying
customers, thus making it possible for the organization to
continue its operations, notwithstanding its profitability status.
