3. Synopsis
Synopsis: Left out the Box
A young student when packing to move out and go to university comes across
an old doll her grandma gave to her at a young age. When contemplating on
whether to take the doll with her she decides against it. Little does she know
an evil presence that has marked her and watched from a little child is keeping
its energy inside the doll. When later that night the evil presence let’s itself be
known. Heather (the student) decides against the idea of leaving it and is
forced to taking the spirit with her. When arriving to university immediate
paranormal action takes place with her dorm door coming off the hinges. Each
night becomes worst and worst until her roommate is killed and police put the
blame on Heather. However the Heather is not Heather no more and we see
her murder a policeman in the final scenes.
4. Characters
Heather Person is our main character in our film and plays a naïve
18 year old currently packing for university. She is 5”8 and has
brunette hair. She lives with her mum, dad and younger sister.
Heather plays the character “Heather” when she's older.
7. Camera shots
• Opening scene will begin with a mid-shot of the two
sisters playing with tracking fade shots. Then a close-
up on the doll (suspenseful music will help build up
the emotion)
• Slow fade into black and a mid-shot of Heather
walking into her room a few cut shots from a side
angle of her putting things into boxes
