3. Introduction
Critical thinking strategies:
❖ Prepare and enable students
to practice open-mindedness.
❖ Encourage creativity in the
classroom.
❖ Aid in the development of
effective problem-solving
skills.
This project details
innovative ideas that may
be useful in developing
critical thinking strategies in
English in Uzbekistan’s
Secondary schools.
5. Empathy
Empathy
Initially, interviews were
conducted with class
members to ascertain their
responses to the concept of
creativity in schools.
As part of the challenge, we
(group members) engaged in
collaborative teamwork to
generate ideas regarding a
solution to the problem.
One group member networked
with a resource personnel who
willingly related the current
framework of the English
Language Curriculum being
assessed.
6. Problem Statement
The lack of critical
thinking strategies in
delivery of the English
Language National

Our problem
defined!
7. Ideate
At this stage of the project, ideas in keeping
with the problem statement were
brainstormed by team members and with the
use of a mind map, selected for inclusion in
the project.
10. Prototype At this stage, a
model of a design
is developed for
use by the
designer or
potential user (s).
TEST 1 (PRE-TEST)
POST TEST)
The team of design thinkers
unanimously agreed on utilizing
the pre-test, post test method as
part of the instruments to tackle
the problem.
15. Feedback from
pre-test
Our resource Teacher who
administered the test,
relayed feedback to the
learners-encouraging critical
thinking skills along the
process. Using the
“Password” activity that we
created.
17. We sought the help of a teacher
employed at a local school to
conduct/test the prototype we
created, which is the "Password"
activity-, the critical thinking
activity.
SUMMARY
According to the teacher,
the students welcomed
and appreciated the
activity, found it
interactive, and explained
their answers intelligently.
The group started by
assessing the problem. We
decided to focus on critical
thinking development in a
local school.
