This document discusses the virtues and meanings of Surat Al-Nass. It states that Surat Al-Nass was revealed alongside Surat Al-Falaq and relates to seeking protection from things within ourselves that we are responsible for, while Surat Al-Falaq relates to seeking protection from external threats. It then explains each line of Surat Al-Nass, noting that it refers to seeking protection from the evil whisperer (Shaitan) and from the negative influences of both jinn and people. The document emphasizes humility before Allah and acknowledging Him as our true Master and God.
2. VirtuesRevelation
Surat Al-Nass was revealed together with Surat Al- Falaq.
Surat Al Falaq : The Ayat mention the things we fear.
Surat Al-Naas: The Ayat mention the ONE we are running
TO for protection (Allah)
This Surah relates to asking protection from things
within ourselves. These are things we are responsible
for ourselves.
(Al-Falaq relates to asking protection from things
outside of ourselves: Things not in our control- like the
evils of the night, and the knot blowers.
1. When we recite this
Surah, we are
showing humility
towards Allah (S).
We are admitting that we
have weaknesses and are
in need of Allah’s help.
We turn to Him for every
need….
1. Recite this Surah
(along with Surat Al-
Falaq) before bed
and after every Salah.

Say I seek protection with the
RABB (Master) of all people
RABB is someone who OWNS but also has complete authority.
● EX: You may own a car, but you don’t have complete authority. You can’t drive it 100
MPH...you can’t run red lights, you can’t knock over the mailboxes. When a policeman pulls
you over, you can’t just say :
“Well I own the car. I can do whatever I want!”
RABB is someone who OWNS but also TAKES CARE.
● EX: You may own a car but you don’t take care of it. You don’t clean it, you don’t get your
oil change on time.
RABB is the first word Allah (S) used to describe Himself in the Quran: “IQRAA BISMI RABIKA
ALLTHEE KHALAQ”
THE SUMMARY OF OUR RELIGION IS: I AM SLAVE + ALLAH IS RABB (MASTER)
A lot of people have no problem admitting that Allah is the creator, but they don’t want to admit
that they are a slave to Him.

The King of all people
Just as every country has only
ONE King, Our Universe has
only ONE King and that is
Allah (S).
Allah (S) is the Supreme King,
who rules all of creation.

The God of all people
● The Shaytan can affect people enough to make them believe they’re God- to make
them arrogant.
Example: Look at the Fir’one who told his people that he is their
Lord.
The whispers of Shaytan can turn us all into mini Firo’nes if we
allow our ego to tell us we are our own God. We can start to
believe we can choose what’s right and wrong for ourselves.
We can start to believe that we don’t need Allah.
When we obey our desires over the desire of Allah,
we are treating those desires like a God.
This is ironic because the word NASS comes from the word NISYAN
which means TO FORGET… We are asking Allah to never let us forget
our place in life…. to never forget our Master.

From the evil of the whisperer, who keeps coming back
The Shaytan doesn’t give up after putting an evil
thought into our minds.
He keeps trying over and over, hoping to slowly lure us
into sin. He is very persistent.
● Example: When he lured Adam and Eve to eat from
the forbidden tree, he did not succeed on his first
try.

The one who whispers in the chest of people
The Shaytan was the FIRST one in history to
exhibit ENVY when he was envious of the
creation of Prophet Adam.
This connects to the last Ayah from Surat Al-
Falaq where we ask protection from ENVY.
Shaytan himself is the source of all jealousy.
He whispers to people to put envy in their
hearts.
Allah didn’t give Shaytan
access to our heart-only
to our chest.
He’s not in our house,
he’s only in the backyard.
He can only come inside
if we let him in. He can
only affect our heart if we
give him access.
If Allah’s remembrance is
in our heart, sins will look
bad to us- we won’t be
tempted. We won’t look
at a sin and like it or wish
to indulge in it.
8. From the jinn and the people

1. Sometimes Shaytan whispers evil
thoughts to us, but other times
people can affect us negatively.
Our own families and friends can
sometimes lead us along the wrong
path and we need to be aware of that.
1. Jinn, like humans are held
responsible for their actions. They
too can be affected by the whispers
of the Shaytan
