The document outlines a shot-by-shot plan for a promotional video about Sunderland College. It begins with establishing drone shots of the coast and bridges to orient the viewer to the location. Subsequent shots will introduce the college buildings and campus before cutting to interior shots of specific facilities like the photography studio, music room, and audio room. Voiceovers are planned to discuss what students love about the environment and courses. The initial plan included shots of the performing arts stage but it was replaced with a focus only on the media production room to give the video more focus on visual and audio aspects of the college.
1. Planning
Shot one opens with a drone shot of the coast. This makes the viewer try to guess where the
shot is from and makes them engaged in the video. If a shot of the college was instantly used,
the viewer is being shoved information and doesn’t give a interesting appeal.
Hard cut with music.
Shot two is a shot of the wear bridge, again with a drone and gives the reader more
information where we are. During this shot a student will give a voiceover saying that they
love the environment and the course they are in.
Hard cut with music.
Shot three is a shot of penshaw monument from above which lets the audience know where
we are even more.

Shot four is a shot over Sunderland college this gives the first hint of the physical place we
are talking about.
The shot itself with be over the college with a dolly zoom.

Shot five is a bus stand sign with Voiceover. The biggest benefit for me is how accessible it
is.
Shot six is a shot from above going down to the college with tracked text of ‘2019 college of
the year’

In this screenshot I have planned all my shots so they just need to be dropped into the corresponding point. This means
that I already know, before recording, what videos I need and how long they need to be. I have been able to cut my
videos due to the fact that I started with my pre-cut music. The voiceover has also been planned and will be spoken by
Matty, josh and me.
3. Instead of doing a performing arts scene I only have the media production room. This
therefore gives the video more focus on the visual and sound aspects of the college. This
therefore means that this video is now more aimed at media and not the whole VPA Building.
