This is to certify that Mr. B. M. Nural Absar, worked as a Junior Engineer from 5 May 2013 to the present
time (25 June 2015) as part of a large international team of 55 persons engaged upon the feasibility studies and
detailed design of highways and bridges, under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Roads and
Highways Department, in Bangladesh.
The project comprised Df four separate national highways (TDtal length 830 lcms) which are to be upgraded
from 2-lane roads to 4-lane roads plus additional segregated slow moving vehicle lanes on each side (i.e. 6-lanes
in all).
The number of ex-isting bridges is 285 (two hundred and eighty five). The total number of exj~ing structures
(including culverts) is 1200 (one thousand two bundred). Works are planned to be bid in total of36 no. separate
·contract lots.

Phase 1 - During Feasibility Study (January, 2013 to May, 2014)
~ Fiekl survey, superlisl0n, inspection, coUecting data, managing and documenting field output, guiding
draftsman simultaneously in their tasks through preparing drawings according to instructed standard. These
are
a. Structural (Bridge, Culvc!t, F!yovcr, Railway overpass etc.) inventory su.-vey, Hydraulic survey

c. Axle Load Survey- Roads/Routes: Nl, N7 (26th of August, 2013 to 25th of September, 201,3)
d. Sub-soil investigation- RoadIRoutes: N1 (2nd ofNovember, 2013 to 6th ofJanuary, 2014)
Phase 2 - During Detail Designing (June, 2014 to May, 2015)
• To prepare standard format ofbar benctingscheduJes based on structural components ofbridge,
flyover, overpass, railway overpass, culvert etc. and structural drawing sets for individual
roads/routes by leading draftsman according to code standard for individual contract/package
under structural (bridge) design section.
• Setup different types of drainage system and placing them in allocated location through
highway. Assisting senior hydrologist to prepare technical hydrological report.
• Under highway section, in RoadslRoutes: N2, N102, Z1202, N7 - Planning for traffic signs
(warning, regulatory, directional, informative) at typical road intersections, roundabouts,
junctions, bus bay, market areas, road markings in highway plan-profile and also prepare
standard schedules for same.
Mr. Absar has performed his duties willingly with diligence and enthusiasm. He has been an asset to this project
and I would be happy to welcome him back for future projects of a similar nature. I wish him every success in
future.
