group or religion

AIDS, Hepatitis B or C,
rabies, septicemia, acute

Enquire about the nearest eye bank.
this is likely to be located at a medical
college or eye hospital in you area.
Contact the one nearest you and they
will register your pledge and provide
you with an eye donation card.
It is preferable is all members of the
family pledge their eyes together.
Under law, relatives of the deceased
can donate his/her eyes, even though
the deceased is not a donar (provided
he/she has never spoken against eye
donation)

analyzed, processed at the
eye bank & then
cornea is transplanted within
96 hours.
Eye banks come under Human
Organ Transplantation Act, and are
inspected by authorities. Donated
eyescannot be brought or sold as it
is a crime.
Eyes should be donated
within 6-8 hrs of death.
Total procedures take
15-20 mins.
The eyes can be donated at
home or any other place
where body is kept.There is
no disfigurement of the face of
the donor.
