Currently working on building low noise readout electronics for diamond detectors that are being considered as a replacement for the commonly used silicon detectors in particle physics experiments requiring a high radiation flux.
Atlas Detector Data Analysis
(May-July 2014)

Worked on the 8 TeV data collected at the ATLAS detector located inside the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Analyzed the data to provide a first ever inclusive measurement of the cross-sections of four decay channels resulting from proton-proton collisions.
BaBar Detector Data Analysis (May-July 2013)

Studied the semileptonic decays of B mesons using the data collected at the BaBar detector located at SLAC. Successfully reduced the long standing problematic gap between the measured inclusive and exclusive semileptonic decay rates of the B meson.

A hands-on experience with the recently developed GEM (Gas Electron Multiplier) detectors where a novel study of plotting the output of the detector as a function of the distance between the GEM foil and the drift electrode was completed.
Construction of a Cosmic Ray Gas Detector

Constructed an Argon Gas Chamber with Aluminum electrodes fitted inside it. Constructed a High Voltage supply of ~5000V using the Cockroft-Walton Multiplier. Applied the HV to the alternate electrodes in the chamber turning it into a visual cosmic ray detector.
Detector Geometry Simulation using FLUKA

Learnt to use the detector environment simulation software named FLUKA. Made different detector geometries and ran simulations to generate the FLUKA output files.

Designed and implemented an Infrared Radiation based burglar alarm system using ATMega microcontroller and an IC 555 astable vibrator. The frequency of the emitted and detected IR radiation was set to a very specific value so as to minimize any background effects. The alarm was designed to go off if anything cut the IR line between emitter and reciever.
Synthesized Composite films of Gold and Silver Nanoparticles on a glass substrate with different samples having different NP sizes and synthesis techniques. The aim was to optimize the synthesis of optical absorbers that absorb light in a specific wavelength range.
Learnt to derive the formula for the Path integral approach to the propagator from basic quantum mechanical postulates and also understood its applications in the varied fields of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and imaginary time formalism.
Knowledge of programming languages like C++ , Python , ROOT, bash shell programming.
PCB design software Eagle and Circuit Simulation Software LT Spice.
Familiar with analog, digital and microcontroller electronics.
Familiar with nanotechnology techniques and devices like AFM, STM, Thin Film Deposition, UV-Spectrometer, Raman Spectroscopy etc.
An all India Rank of 1272 in the IIT joint entrance exam out of the 4lakh students appearing for the exam in 2010.
Selected in the top 1% students in India in both Indian National Astronomy Olympiad and Indian National Physics Olympiad.
Holder of the National Talent Search Scholarship (NTSE).
Awarded the Maharashtra State Talent Search Scholarship twice.
Active member and hiphop choreographer at Insync- the dance club of IIT Bombay.
Choreographed for various institute dance events like
PAF ( Performing Arts Festival), AIDS ( Annual Insync Dance Show), Gyrations and inter-college competitions like Chaos, Malhar, Mood Indigo etc.
Led the hostel dance team to 2nd place in 2012 and 3rd place in 2013 in Gyrations- The Inter Hostel Dance Competition.
Member of the institute hiphop dance teams that won 1st place at Chaos 2012 and 2nd place at Mood Indigo 2010.
Member of the bronze medal winning hostel basketball team and member of the team who won the Institute Basketball League tournament.
Built a remote controlled 4 wheeler vehicle for the competition ‘Trackmania’ at IIT Bombay in 2010.
