To succeed in college, students must make an inner commitment to doing the work despite difficulties. This includes having a positive attitude, learning at an appropriate speed, and not running away from problems. Students should discover their potential through counseling services or choosing a major they find interesting. While it is tempting to avoid work through excuses or prioritizing other activities, students must make their studies the top priority and complete assignments to reach their goals.

2. Doing the work
• Determination:
“I will do the work”.
If your attitude is positive then you will have positive imact on your work and negative
attitude will have negative impact on your work.
• Speed:
The speed at which you learn things also matter. if you learn slowly then it will remain in
your brain for a long time otherwise, learning all at once may cause problems.
• Inner Commitment:
One of the most important factor for college survival and success is an inner commitment
to “doing the work.”

3. Doing the work despite difficulties:
• Running from problems:
While running away seems like a quick fix, most people find that they can't run away from
their problems forever. Leaving may be more comfortable, but staying put is where real
growth happens.
Do not get demotivated. Find problems and solve them. Find what is wrong with your
attitude and question yourself.
• Hardwork:
If you want good rank in society then work really heard and with your heart.
Do not doubt yourself and your abilities. Trust yourself. Do not run from work.

4. Discovering the commitment to do the work
• Discovering the potential:
Some people discover possibilities within themselves or realize the potential meaning that
college can have in their lives. As a result, they make the commitment to do the work that
is absolutely essential to succeed in college.

Going to the departments of your respective departmnts and asking them questions about
your new major may help choosing major which you are interested in.

5. Running from commitment to Do The Work
There are two roads to take: One road is to do the work and the other is to avoid the work.
• To Do The Work:
Leave gaming, watching T.V, social activities and travel on the road to reach your goal. Stop
everything and make your work your first priority.
• To Avoid The Work:
There are countless ways of doing so. For example; Prioritizing your social activities and
thinking of your work as a difficult and an impossible task.

6. Avoidance Tactics
1. I can not do it.
2. I am too busy.
3. I am too tired.
4. I will do it later.
5. I am bored of the subject.
6. I am here, and that is what counts.
