Following the RSC/United Rentals mergerI was partoftheteamwho helped to centralizethelogistics ofthe4 Edmonton area branches.This
involved implementing a new dispatch system, hiring and growing our driving team andworking onstandardizing processes atthebranch and
within thelogistics departmentto improve efficiencyand maximize our delivery fleet. I also helpeddevelopbestpractices for managing
inventory andsharing fleet,driverdelivery and pre-call procedures to reduce faileddeliveries and also moving reservations to the closest store
geographically toexpedite deliveries andreducedrivetimeto jobsites.
As part of the LEAN process withUnitedRentals I took partin a number ofKaizen events to reviewcurrent process andlook for ways to
improve and streamlinemaking changes wherenecessary. I foundit tobe a rewarding process and a great way toconstantly challenge myself
and my teamto improveourperformance.
Away from work I haveplayedcompetitivesoccer andrugby allofmy life, andhave hadtheopportunity toplay at representative levelat home
in England and inCanada. I enjoy thephysicalchallengeofplaying andalsotheteamwork and characterbuilding that goes along withplaying
contact sports. I havewona numberoflocaland provincial titles inCanada, in theUK andalsoin Hong Kong enjoying great experiences and
meeting somegreat peoplealong theway. Sinceretiring fromplaying 2years agoI have takenup coaching whichhas been challenging attimes
but also extremely rewarding.
I also enjoy camping, biking and spending timeoutdoors with mywifeandthreeyoung children.
