Academic and Career Advising, Director
Provides direction, support, training and supervision for Academic Advisors in multiple CCR
program areas; prepares recommendations for hiring staff; makes recommendations regarding
disciplinary actions including termination; establishes and monitors employee performance
objectives.
Works collaboratively with CCR Instructional Division Coordinators to assist in the implementation
of a comprehensive student advising structure for all CCR students.
Analyzes new LEIS performance reports and related data to identify potential problems,
determine root causes, and implement program improvement plans in order to meet or exceed
state and federal performance measures.
Ensures that coordinators, faculty and staff are trained in the implementation of student career
maps to assist students in transitioning to postsecondary education and/or employment.
Provide information and support for the design and development of new curriculum within CCR
advising prerequisites.
Monitor and support coordinators and full-time and part-time faculty in the delivery of revised
curriculum aligned to the national College and Career Readiness Standards and consistent with
directives of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) within the advising
prerequisites.
Participates in leading the implementation of the new CCR delivery structure leading to career
pathways in STEM, In-demand jobs, and/or college transition.
Participates in overseeing and coordinating administrative operations for CCR, such as accurate
completion of LEIS forms, online attendance and CODs.
Coordinates department’s activities by assisting in establishing and implementing policies and
procedures, assisting in establishing goals, monitoring and reviewing procedures and
recommending any needed improvements as it pertains to career and academic advising.
Prepares and manages departmental budget; forecasts and recommends funds needed for
staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and recommends approval of expenditures.
Assists in the development, planning, recommendation, implementation, and administration of
goals and objectives.
Coordinate and manage technology integration for all CCR advising and career support services.
2. Contributes to the selection and development of instructional materials for advising prerequisites
in accordance with course objectives.
Plans, organizes and directs all activities for student advising and transition information for the
Advising and Student Success Centers at multiple campuses.
Maintains regular communication with CCR program coordinators on a regular basis regarding
advising support services development progress, implementation and delivery.
Coordinate division activities with those of other divisions relating to student support services and
coordinate relationships with outside agencies, including community-based organizations (CBO)
and the broader community. May serve as the initial contact and relationship manager for all CBO
– instructional sites.
Coordinate the transition from assessment or HRD to advising and to instruction for new and
